Zone1 Is the middle class being destroyed in the US?

Our jobs went overseas cause of unions
The jobs were going overseas no matter what. Theres no way to compete with slave labor wages. We cannot have workers here working for something even remotely close to thosevwages and call it acceptable. Cant live on that. Its called greed.

Yep. So basically nope. Notta. Lets add higher health care premiums. I could go on and on...but nah. Reality is what it is.
I disagree. There are costs associated with both parents working.

Harder than the generation who worked in sweatshops 12 hours a day, 6 days a week? Who had to show up even when their back hurt and work through the pain because there was no sick leave and they couldn’t afford to miss a day’s pay?

Blue collar workers have it MUCH easier today.
CHANGED by unions,
Then unions got greedy,
greed & envy, lust for power, human short commings.

The unions just became a way to leech money from their members and turn it over to the Democrats.

I see a number of threads here saying the middle class being destroyed or the middle class being worse today than in the past.

But was it not easer to get a job before than today? Also jobs paid better before than today and jobs were more secure than today.

A number of people in other threads here say the middle class is being destroyed now.
It's being bled out to prepare the field for the 2-tier feudalistic system, which of course will fail immediately.

You gotta love these MAGAts and their **** the worker mentality.
This isn’t maga

Well here in Chitown, the mayor of Chitown just fired the least paid workers in the city for his budget. The Janitors. And democrats think us to be morons and think they're for middle class workers. Hilarious.

Of course there is. But if they cannot survive on one salary then what should they do? Have kids they cannot afford to take care of?

I dont see a party that helps average working families.. they simply do not care. Until one comes along its only going to get increasingly difficult out there.

Depends what you mean by “survive”.

I knew someone who was a SAH mom with two young children and was renting a modest townhouse with her husband, who was the sole earner. They wanted to buy a house. But the only way they could do that was if the mother went to work full-time, as well.

So their choice was: continue to rent the modest place and get by on one salary, or become a dual-income couple so they could buy the house, and hire an after-school babysitter from the nearby high school a couple of hours a day. They chose the latter.

(I know this because I was the high school babysitter.)

If you're looking to the government (or politicians) to improve your life, you're looking in the wrong place.
