Most people don't trust media sources these days & those that do are dwindling.
The leadership of MSM knows they are losing both credibility & followers, so the question is: How to regain the trust & bring back the masses before they become obsolete?

Apparently, there is a growing school of thought in both academic & media circles that the idea of journalistic reporting based on facts is antiquated & less than ideal. Stupid even.

Don't take my word, they betray themselves with their own words, even choosing to post articles advocating activism over journalism.
The left refuses to acknowledge the fundamental fact that objectivity is essential, labeling their propaganda as "advocacy journalism".

Objectivity is the very foundation of journalism. If it isn't based on factually verified data, then it's somewhere between mere speculation & outright propaganda.
Subjective writing is not journalism, it is an opinion piece & should always be labeled as such.
Subjective writing belongs in the Editorial section so as not to confuse the low IQ's.

Otherwise, you would still have sheeple thinking masks work for an airborne virus, the clot shots are safe, effective & necessary, a demented perv in a dirty diaper sleeping on boxes of classified docs received 81 million legit votes, men can have babies & if corrupt Russia wins in corrupt Ukraine, it's the end of baseball, hot dogs, apple pie & Chevrolet.

Now, former executive editor for The Washington Post Leonard Downie Jr. and former CBS News President Andrew Heyward have released the results of their interviews with over 75 media leaders and concluded that objectivity is now considered reactionary and even harmful. Emilio Garcia-Ruiz, editor-in-chief at the San Francisco Chronicle said it plainly: “Objectivity has got to go.”
In an interview with The Stanford Daily, Stanford journalism professor, Ted Glasser, insisted that journalism needed to “free itself from this notion of objectivity to develop a sense of social justice.”

He rejected the notion that journalism is based on objectivity and said that he views “journalists as activists because journalism at its best — and indeed history at its best — is all about morality.”

Thus, “Journalists need to be overt and candid advocates for social justice, and it’s hard to do that under the constraints of objectivity.”

Lauren Wolfe, the fired freelance editor for the New York Times, has not only gone public to defend her pro-Biden tweet but published a piece titled
“I’m a Biased Journalist and I’m Okay With That.”

It's nothing new. The media has been solid cheerleaders for democrats since FDR. It's become more obvious since Fox came into being. The more people become aware of left wing bias in the media the more angry and focused the media gets. The dumbing down of generations of kids with sub standard and biased education is a boon to the media so you have to wonder if it's part of a conspiracy.

The Soviets learned this lesson with Pravda. Most of the population did not believe the propaganda but some did.

Shrug, not much else you can do.

Objectivity is paramount in journalism. Unfortunately, media needs to sell their speeches and it is in fact their viewer base that often dictates the material. "We receive plenty of eyes of we are antiTrump, anti-cop, anti-American etc. so just push a story with such strong narratives and get the clicks". It's akin to Google grabbing your search history to sell ads sadly.

Until proven otherwise , I believe the Unbalanced States of America have been targeted to become more gullible and stupid than anywhere else on the planet .
Here is proof;

Gullibility and Stupidity are now more common than obesity .Which is 50%+.

Stop with the mealymouthed bothsiderism. Instead of being "fair", be objective.

That means point out that conservatives really are stupid and evil, and that they literally lie about every single thing. Point out what violent democracy-hating traitors they are.

Point out that the liberals are honest, smart and moral.

Be honest, even if it does trigger the fascist dogshit people. Since the fascist dogshit people will want to kill the media no matter what, there's no point in trying to appease them.

My old journalism professor always told us that you just report what happened or what was said and let the reader make their own judgement one way or the other. Nobody cares (or more accurately should care) what your opinion is. Too much “journalism” these days is nothing but opinion pieces or “reporters” claiming that the speaker “said this but really meant that”.

Your post would have worked better if you had been unbiased & admitted that All MEDIA looks for MONEY, RATEINGS & POLITICAL PULL.
Truth for truths sake seems to be dead.

It has been said that in our nation today, journalism is dead.

I agree. It’s all propaganda. You get to pick your favorite propaganda and I get to pick mine.

More deep thoughts from our resident hairy backed sausage catcher.

A lefty calling themselves a liberal is like an incontinent pedo calling himself a minor attracted person... or president.
You may gaslight the sheeple by changing the meanings of words (how Orwellian) but you are neither bright nor articulate enough to fool anyone with even avg intelligence.
