Inside immigration courts around the country, immigrants who crossed the border illegally and were caught and released are required to appear before a judge for a preliminary hearing.

But in a new twist, the Trump administration has begun using an unexpected legal tactic in its deportation efforts. Rather than pursue a deportation case, it is convincing judges to dismiss immigrants’ cases — thus depriving the immigrants of protection from arrest and detention — then taking them into custody.

The practice, affecting immigrants released at the border and given a “notice to appear” in court under both the Trump and Biden administrations, sometimes leads to people being quickly deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement through a process called expedited removal.

Is this a fast and effecient way of getting rid of illegal aliens, or should the Trump administration get rid of the worst of the illegals by concentrating on people who are arrested for crimes and turn out to be illegals?

Is it an issue of fairness, i.e. an illegal now trying to do it the legal way and walks into a surprise arrest? Or is an illegal an illegal, and should go to the end of the line for immigration, which is in their home country at the U.S. Consulate?

The majority of America says no. It's not. Looks like maga is losing on their number one issue.

I think you misunderstood the question. If a majority of America says it's not unfair to arrest illegal immigrants who show up for hearings or ICE check-ins, then MAGA is winning.

Do you seriously believe that the majority of America wants a return to Biden-level illegal immigration? Biden's handlers did not believe it, that why they had him pretending he wanted to slow down illegal immigration as the election approached.

Yes, it's absolutely bullshit. These folks are doing what they are supposed to to get legal status.

tRump said he was concentrating on criminals, but he's not. he's concentrating on numbers, nothing more.

Go get the ones that aren'y

I can see it now--- next, Trump will be going to judges asking them to drop the case against an illegal, and the democrat judges will start refusing! Oh, Donald Trump the political mayhem you weave for the left!!!

:no_text11:

If the judge denies their claim then they are here illegally and then subject to removal. I realize that law is hard for some to understand. I also realize that there are those that want their wage slaves left alone, because how else are they going to have a slave.
Then there are those that believe law is flexible and should only be enforced when it affects their supposed enemies

Not exactly. What you're supposed to do to get legal status is apply for a visa and wait.

Still, I can see why you would think that.

But . . . once a person illegally enters the U.S., we have no obligation to immediately skip them to the head of the line, ahead of all the would-be immigrants applying for visas at U.S. Consulates in their own countries and then waiting for approval. We have no obligation to provide them a way to get legal status.

However . . . in a perfect world, these people who are doing what they were asked to do should be less a priority than those who are committing crimes. So why is that not happening?

Because of you.

tRump said he was concentrating on criminals, but he's not. he's concentrating on numbers, nothing more.
He tried to concentrate on the criminals and look what happened:

Santuary cities refused to call ICE when a criminal turns out to be illegal. Judges did everything they can to stop ICE from enforcing the law, including assisting criminal defendants already in custody in escaping their lawful arresters.

As Tom Homan warned, this forced ICE to go in to communities to arrest the worst of the worst illegals, thus increasing the danger to the community instead of a safe transfer while the criminal is in custody.

Then . . . when the ICE agents take the risk to make Americans safe from criminal aliens, the mob attacks the ICE agents, and you cheer them on.

You (and those like you) made this bed, the illegals now have to lie in it.
Go get the ones that aren'y
Not sure what that means. But yes, Trump is looking for numbers. The fewer illegals in the country, the fewer people killed by illegal alien drunk drivers, the fewer girls and women raped by illegal aliens, and the fewer illegal alien human traffickers forcing childrent into labor and sex-work slavery.

Biden inherited a border crisis created by Trump.

Yes, There’s a Crisis on the Border. And It’s Trump’s Fault.

Instead of wasting his time on a wall, the president should fix the asylum system.

Trump had fixed the "asylum" system with his "remain in Mexico program". Asylum requestees had to remain in Mexico or their home countries until their applications were processed. Biden just threw the border wide open to anyone claiming asylum without any verification at all. Trump fixed it, Biden broke it again.

No, it's more than fair if arrested for cause.....We are in this for OUR culture, not some third-world shit-hole culture.

If they are not supposed to be here, get shed of them. How hard is that to understand?

I dont like it. IMO, if they got a hearing then they should get a hearing if they show up. In a perfect world , you dont come here unless you waited and came here the right way, but the reality is they are already here.
Still, I think there should be a high standard for special circumstances. Also background checks will come into play in a big way.

As of September 3, 2025, the Trump administration’s second term has likely deported 300,000–350,000 migrants, on pace for 500,000–600,000 annually, which is below Biden’s FY 2024 total (271,000 removals, 4.7 million repatriations over 4 years) and Obama’s 5.3 million over 8 years, but comparable to or exceeding Trump’s first-term annual average. Earlier administrations (Bush, Clinton) had higher totals due to longer terms and border-focused returns. The current pace may increase with new policies, but logistical and legal constraints could limit Trump’s “largest deportation operation” ambitions.

And they tell their story to the Judge, and historically 85% of the time the Judge finds they are full of shit and orders removal. If I had to guess, that rate will going up to 95% with Biden's illegals.

the whole situation is (IMO) heartbreaking and nauseating----simultaneously
