Please discuss. Possibly my nanoessay will be posted in this thread.

Under other circumstances, Humility can be a Vice and Entitlement can be a Virtue. The very basis of Human Rights is the fact that people feel entitled to their rights and are willing to protest for them. One of the primary factors making some forms of Tyranny possible is the subject who is humble and unwilling to assert his interests.

The Virtue of Entitlement is protesting for one's rights and in the process helping those, whose rights are similarly violated. The Vice of Humility is accepting injustice toward oneself without protest and in the process enabling injustice toward those, whose rights are similarly violated. Unfortunately, many people view the Vice of Humility as a virtue and the Virtue of Entitlement as a vice!
