Yes, restrictions and bans do not stop criminals from obtaining guns, but they very obviously work. Just look at Canada and compare how many mass shootings they have compared to the US. It's not coincidental.

We do know, however, that children sometimes gain access to their parents' guns causing horrifying accidents. Or men like those in this thread taking their parents' legal guns to commit mass murder.
