Is creating unnecessary opposition an intelligent thing to do?

Wrong statement. These people are not CHOOSING to go back, they are being forced to go back. There is such a thing as asylum seeking from people fearing for their own lives in their countries. Forcing them to go back could be a death sentence.
Why? Because they are murderers in their own country also?

How do you know they don’t want to go back to Columbia? Given that they will not be allowed to remain illegally in the United States as occupiers, my guess would be that they would prefer to be sent to their home country rather than Russia or someplace like that

If any of them do decide that they would prefer Russia or Paris or Taiwan, that is between them, those countries, and their ability to pay for a flight from Columbia. Uncle Sam is not a travel agent.

What would you have Trump do, take them just pass the 7 mile limit and leave them in a life raft?

I am not insisting on anything. My OP is about UNECESSARY opposition. My way or the highway mentality, especially when you are talking about the fact that Democrats are 50% of the population and as president, you should be taking care of ALL Americans, not just those that support you
ALL Americans are safer now that Trump is ridding the country of the most violent and dangerous of illegal aliens.

You enjoy that extra margin of safety no matter how much you hate Trump.

That has not been proven

The opposition to Trump (by the Democrats) was never unnecessary. It was fully earned
You have no idea how ridiculous you sound when you say stuff like that. You know full well that democrat overreach, arrogance and hubris created the TRUMP! phenomenon in the first place, now you're crying about it.

Our "system" is built to incentivize and reward the most destructive impulses of its participants.

We either fix the system or we keep bending over for it.
The two-party domination leads us in that direction. Requiring coalitions of multiple parties to govern would go a long way toward curbing the worst of the impulses.

Why do you think the democrats are now known for being the party of the wealthy? They stopped pretending to care about the needs of the lower and middle classes. Why do you think TRUMP! was able to awaken so much passion in the voters? They were sick and tired of democrats pretending to care about them while ignoring them. You know that TRUMP! used to be a democrat and you would champion him if he still was and ran as one. The bottom line remains, however, that everything you're complaining Republicans are doing is being done in spades by democrats.

I could go on, but everyone gets the picture. Maybe if the democrats cleaned their own house and straightened up their own ship, they would have some credibility on this issue. Until then, they're just ginning up unnecessary opposition and look foolish doing so.

Doesn’t have to be “proven“ to you. They are in the country illegally, and they should go back home.

That is pretty much the end of any discussion of that.
Two things you are forgetting

1) we have an asylum seekers law that allows people being persecuted in their own countries to seek refuge here and the law does not allow us to send them back to their countries.

2) Your statement about "they should go back home" does not mean that their home country HAS TO accept them back.

If they have been proven to be criminals here in the U.S., they should be prosecuted and sent to jail. If we decide to send them back to their own country, their country needs to accept them back. That is the way things work and have worked for ages.

Your bias is showing big time.

That asylum system has been incredibly abused by the Biden administration and by the aliens it encouraged to come to the United States.

Do you honestly want to return to the way it was before Biden wise up and realize he was going to lose the election if he didn’t tighten up the border?

How would you explain to the parents of Lake Riley, for example, that you favor a continuous stream of migrants who can stay in the country just by knowing how to operate the CPB One ap?

But Columbia has CHOSEN to accept them, as part of ongoing cooperation Between Columbia and the United States. I thought cooperation was something that you favored?

Why should US taxpayers have to pay for their living expenses? Send them back to their country and provide them the evidence if they want to prosecute.

That is what is happening with Columbia now.

Cooperation doesn’t mean one side gives the other side every single thing that they want. But of course, this has been the Democrat technique. Act enraged if you don’t get every single thing that you want so that the conversation is about your rage instead of about how to find more compromise.

Democrats hate compromise.

True, but that is no longer important as the Democrats are no longer in control. Current administration should do things with the idea of doing what is right and not doing it because it was done (or not done) before.

This is not about me or my feelings. It is about what makes sense and not doing things because one person (Trump) wants it done that way

That is something that needs to be resolved by Congress. What you have mentioned as an example, we can find examples like that going back 70 years. Immigration has always been a problem that needs to be resolved by compromise and cooperation from all parties.
But Columbia has CHOSEN to accept them, as part of ongoing cooperation Between Columbia and the United States. I thought cooperation was something that you favored?

No, Columbia did not accept them back. That is why Trump put a 25% tariff on them this weekend.
Why should US taxpayers have to pay for their living expenses? Send them back to their country and provide them the evidence if they want to prosecute.

Life is not about what should be but about what is. That is life for everyone on earth.

Democrats hate compromise.

Total BS and proven over and over again. You believe the lies given by the Far Right

Again, 312>226
The American People say so.
You need to learn to live with that.
Does that mean lying down and not trying to change it, if it doesn't work?

Did you learn to do that in 2020 (306>232 for Biden - the American people said so)?
