PRC has been building towards this goal for over 80+ years. Becoming the "industrial source" for the West, and absconding our science and tech advances along the way, have helped PRC acquire more resources to attack and absorb this chunk(Taiwan) into the Fold of Greater PRChina.

There's a complex and involved weave of history and events that got the World to this point, and more on that later, but Taiwan has been and remains a "FlashPoint" that could trigger a "World War Three".
