50 terminators ?? That don’t make sense lol
What about Matrix ??
What I mean is that the very moment that skynet sent a terminator through the time machine, it would have known instantly that the terminator it sent didn't succeed, because that failure would have been documented history.
So it would have sent another. And if that failed, another. Until one finally succeeded. The instant the terminator went through... skynet would know it needed to send another, and another, and so on until it succeeded. So yeah, 50 terminators later, or even 100, until it won. But of course that would have made for a bad story, so for whatever reason it only sent 1 terminator each time because it made for a good plot line.
Matrix was great. That has infinite replay value.
The story problem was minor, which was that at the end of Matrix, they made Neo seem invincible, and then in matrix 2, suddenly he wasn't invincible anymore.
But even so, taken as a whole, I thought the Matrix movies were extremely good, and I've watched all three many times.
Also Agent Smith was just amazing. I think the movie would not have worked without Hugo Weaving playing Agent Smith. He was a very believable enemy for Neo and the plot line.
Even so, I find it hard comparing movies so far apart in time. Matrix was 1999, and Aliens was 1986. Both are kings of times they were created. If they both came out in 1999, Matrix would be my top choice. But again, in 1986, there was no way to do a movie like the Matrix, and Aliens one of the best movies of the 1980s.
The technical ability to do a movie like Matrix simply didn't exist in 1986. Would it have made a difference? I don't know. Honestly. One of those hypotheticals that can't really be answered.
But both are amazing films, that even to this day are entertaining and fun to watch again.
