Until the Republicans investigate what happened on J6 in 2023, we don't really who made the call to deny the many National Guard requests. You can say Irving, but Nancy is his supervisor, and House Rules make the Speaker responsible for security. Nancy failed that responsibility.
When the Capitol Police Chief Sund, President Trump, Sgts. at Arms Irving & Stenger ALL request that the National Guard be activated for the J6 rally, and Nancy refuses to change her policy, yes, she is responsible for the riot to a certain degree. IF the NG was there the "protesters" would not have breached the Capitol. Nancy failed her responsibility.

All authority of capitol security rests with the Capitol Police Board, it has 3 members and none of those 3 are Pelosi, she has no authority with capitol security. Read the fact check for reference.

Could Pelosi have stopped January 6 riot? No. Could she have put up a better security and taken all of the reinforcements she was offered? Absolutely. That’s the issue. Why wasn’t she more proactive especially when the media and law enforcement were telling people not to come into DC January 6th.
