Interesting statistics on school shootings

Dont take any drugs suffer
Yeah, that’s what some of us do. I’m already on enough (too many) medications for my variety of physical ailments. I told my thsmerspist I’m not even going to listen to any treatment plan that includes MORE medication. It’s just that simple.

Results

There was no statistical significance in any of the analyses demonstrating that SSRI use led to an increased risk of aggression in this sample of inpatients.

Conclusion

The FDA warning of increased risk of suicidality and case reports of aggression potentially associated with the use of certain antidepressants should not prevent prescribers from treating adult patients with SSRI medications.

Marijuana can cause psychosis or if one is predisposed to schizophrenia it can cause it to surface. It also can lower IQ
Indeed, no argument from me, his remark "Odds are they’re all pot users" is apparently unfounded. These fools also fail to grasp that Marijuana use is not confined to the USA, it is consumed all over the developed world yet the mass shooting scourge is purely a USA problem.

I met a psychologist in graduate school Peter Langman who wrote a book Why Kids Kill. They all have severe mental illness often ignored.
People who express anti drug baloney often have mental a diagnosis themselves

Marijuana causes psychosis. Odds are they’re all pot users. The most recent psycho shooter even admitted that in his own case.
Potheads refuse to acknowledge the risk. The pot industry is replaying the obfuscation of the tobacco industry with the blessing of state governments.

That's totally false

Over a 52 year study period 100% of all shooters were medicated with antidepressants

100%

Caused suicidal and homicidal tendencies

You’re obviously one of the close-minded, obstinate and ignorant potheads who are part of the problem.
Pot is a dangerous drug that can cause psychosis and psychotic episodes, etc., whether you like it or not.

SSRI day of reckoning is going to happen when the left stops protecting Big Pharma.
The over prescribing is becoming an epidemic. PERIOD.
EXACTLY how the left media was all over the dangers of hormone boosts for athletes and all of the serious health risk associated with them.
But - wait for it - GEE!!! Let's give those same drugs to our children because they think they are a girl!!!!

That's totally false

Discussion

In two prospective longitudinal samples of youth, those who subsequently used marijuana experienced greater cognitive decline by late adolescence in measures of verbal ability (Vocabulary) and general knowledge (Information) relative to nonusers. Baseline IQ performance was assessed at ages 11–12 y in a largely white sample from Minnesota (MTFS) and at ages 9–10 y in a predominantly Hispanic sample from Southern California (RFAB). At the baseline assessment—before marijuana involvement—future users already had significantly lower scores on these subtests than nonusers in the MTFS. The decline in Vocabulary score in marijuana users was statistically equivalent across the two samples, translating into a change of nearly four IQ points.

Pot and Psychosis

One thing that marijuana and schizophrenia have in common is psychosis. It isn’t a mental illness -- rather, it’s a symptom. When you have psychosis, your thoughts are disrupted in a way that makes it hard for you to tell what’s real and what’s not. You might see or hear things that aren’t there, or you might have strange thoughts that won’t go away. Psychosis is a symptom of schizophrenia.

Studies have found that when you’re high on marijuana, you can have psychotic symptoms. The effect goes away as the high wears off.

Scientists think the main ingredient in marijuana that causes psychotic symptoms is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol).

It’s totally true. Just because you don’t want to hear it doesn’t make it false. People like you are part of the problem and put others at risk.
Worshipping trump and embracing every baseless conspiracy fantasy he raises, also causes psychosis, trump suffers from that more than most people in public life.

Hallucinations like - "but trump really did win the 2020 election".
Delusions like - "the Jan 6 thing was not an attempted insurrection".

Thats because they have mental illness in the first place. Cite the study because its not 100%. School shooters have one or more of 3 diagnosis. Psychosis, psychopath, trauma. Antidepressants are not used for psychosis or psychopaths. The medications dont cause violence. They are mentally ill and violent already. Thats like say9ng 100% of them ate a hamburger so burgers are the cause.
Exactly! There’s a reason why these shooters are on medication. It’s because they are mentally ill. If anything medication prevents sick people in many cases from going out and shooting people.

It does way more than that. I’ve lived with cannabis-induced derealization disorder for fifty years. I have more than a few friends who’ve experienced the same thing. Add to that cannabinoid hypermesis. An intestinal ailment that is essentially the munchie's in reverse. A neurological condition that makes the body regurgitate everything.

Ha "odds are" FFS the man asked for citations, peer reviewed evidence that these wild hysterical claims have any basis in reality. This is just another magat conspiracy fantasy, FTF - **** the facts.

All the magats do is dream up some casual relationship between two unrelated parameters and hey presto we have an "explanation" for mass shootings that doesn't implicate our national gun fetish.

This is why only uneducated hickbillies support trump.

The statement that antidepressants increase the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in children, adolescents, and young adults is an accurate summary of the black box warning required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
. This warning, based on analyses of clinical trial data, applies to SSRIs and SNRIs and also includes unusual changes in behavior.

So tell us again who is uneducated here?

I'm sorry may we see the source? and I read it twice but didn't see the words "violence" or "gun rampage".

True but in my experience they stop taking the medications and getting them to take them can be struggle

The problem is a lot of these medications have bad side effects, which lead to many people that stop taking them.
