If you raise the minimum wage on the lowest, then salaries go up throughout the entire chain in order to maintain parity. That means the costs of operating the business go way up, and in order to continue to make a profit, they need to raise prices.

Inflation isn’t bad enough for you? That $10 McDonalds meal isn’t high enough? Raise the minimum wage, and it will be $15.

Besides which…..only about 2% of the workers earn minimum wage. The working class earns substantially more, which was fine under Trump. But with Biden’s jump of 25% on prices, the working class is struggling.

Even the formerly upper-middle class is having to cut back elsewhere.

The receptionist earning $18 wants a raise to at least $21 since a $3 different isn’t enough, and then the junior accountant wants $30, and the more experienced accountant wants $45.

That’s a BIG increase in my compensation costs, and I will have to raise my fees.

I just had lunch yesterday at a Mexican restaurant where I would always get the $9.99 weekday special - two cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans. It was now $14.99, and the soda went up from $3 to $4. What had previously been an inexpensive $18 lunch (with tax and tip) is now $26 - for a cheapie Mexican lunch.

Considering how much more I’m paying for groceries this days, I won’t be going to the Mexican restaurant again.

So, if no one showed up and bought that 26-dollar lunch would it go back to 18-dollars?

Few if any of those programs are available to able bodied people who are choosing not to work. Almost all of it goes to seniors, the disabled and children.
