Increasing US isolation

There is a new world order forming because of Trump's economic war against the world.

Unfortunately, for the US, while the world is in transition, we have the most stupid man to ever be president leading us in this time.

Sachs is one of the few who have stayed credible.

His matchups with Napolitano are worth our time too. Chris Hedges!
I truly wish Christopher Hitchens were still here (despite disagreeing with his atheism) and Gore Vidal, I bet these men are turning in their graves.

Hitchens hits the nail on the head here at 0:28, (I'll paraphrase) if you point out to magats how much trump is damaging you, they will hate you not trump and that's because people generally refuse to admit they've been gullible, its far easier to deny reality and blame the person telling them the truth.

Hitchens was pro-war.
Yes he was, I disagree with him in several areas and his spat with Chomsky didn't go well, he bit off more than he could chew there.

But I'd love to hear Hitchens discussing trump today, Jan 6th, pardoning 1200 insurrectionists, sending troops into cities, arming Israel to the hilt (although that's more or less a US tradition since 1967).

Hitchens reflects an older republican time, when there was some intellectualism present, those days are gone, the party is now filled with weak self serving sycophants.

what do you think we (USA) could have done in 1979?
Announce that if each and every hostage is not released (neutral embassy, probably Sweden or Switzerland, or across the border into Turkey) in 24 hours, then Tehran will vanish in the fire of split atoms in 24 hours and ten minutes.

I have no idea on how Hitchens would argue the Jan. 6th. thing. What's your opinion and why? I would tend to lean toward him supporting the president but not the method.

He was known and admired for his atheism and everything else was practically ignored.

there is no question that SOMETHING has to be done in response to the ISLAMIC-MO.
From house to house slaughter to hijackings, bombing pizza parlors, weddings and teen celebrations, religious holidays and the BIGGIE----HOSTAGES (<<< an incomplete list
of highly creative atrocities) We Desperately Need a WAY TO GO----it may get even worse

As an intellectual (again leaving aside things I disagree with him about) I can't see him defending a buffoon like trump. I don't really know of any intellectual who really supports or admires trump.

Hitchens regarded Israel as a very stupid idea so he'd likely not align with trump there.

As for Jan 20 the only way to support that is to internalize the lie that the election was "stolen" and it's inconceivable to me that Hitchens would subscribe to that, he had his faults but utter gullibility wasn't one of them.

In what, in the "stolen" election claim?

I don't know what leads you to that conclusion, his name wouldn't come up in routine TV political discourse much but neither does Noam Chomsky, and he's certainly not ignored.

I'll agree with your arguments because I really don't have much feeling to disagree. Hitchens didn't take on every and all hot button issues.

Can we move on to the discussion on the war against Russia and Sachs' opinions? Especially on nuclear not being an option. (how does that pertain to the Zionist regime?)

I spent some time catching up with the economist Jeffrey Sachs yesterday and I found it enlightening.

The upshot of my catch up is that US dominance is fading and Europe with it possibly, partly due to recent US actions, new alliances are forming between states that the US worked to keep opposed to each other, for example China is now starting to talk more to India and Japan, these are (he argues) very natural alliances and it is only because of US policy that they've been prevented from developing but that kind of US influence is now fading, the US is being seen as increasingly unimportant.

He talks about the anxiety here in the US, the tension here and how it is more or less just here, other nations more or less don't care and see the US has a declining empire far way and just a distraction now.

He points out that a country with 4% of the population has for far too long tried to run the world and that those days are over, not just because of Trump but certainly in ways that Trump is not equipped to do anything about.

Worth a listen whichever "side" you're on.

It shows how Trump, nor his brain dead following of emasculated beta males, and bubbleheaded bleach blonds, still havent figured out yet.

The US is not business, and cannot be run like one.

We are a government of the people, with elected officials.

Not a corporation with CEO's and shareholders.

We don't make deals. We make national policy.

I know exactly what it means:

At least I'm not color blind.
Who cares what a bunch of terrorist lovers want.

**** 'em. Pallyweird has lost any sense of empathy from normal people.

Hopefully they can be moved to Malaysia where they will be split up amongst the islands and disappear as a cultural group in a few generations.

Yeah, it absolutely will because the Malaysian government will make it happen.

Yes, I know your view and the rest of magatry (and most democrats too sadly) so having made the intention clear, why do you expect nobody to protest this ethnic cleansing?

when has ethnic cleansing been the object of protest?

Broke the irony meter with this one, Shylock. After four years of backing a failed machine, a demented leader and his ignorant second, you really lost it with this post.
