Increasing Taxes On The Wealthy And Corporations Is Extremely Popular And Has Been For Years

It’s been reported for years that many large corporations pay little to nothing in taxes, even though they make enormous profits.

Enormous profits, based on Jimmy Dore's limited understanding? LOL!
See? You didn’t watch the video, but your lack of intelligence makes you comment on something you know nothing about. Dore cited sources dummy, but you think he just made it up.

I watched the video.
It had no specifics. Like you.

but you think he just made it up.

Nope. Not even a little.
Lol. Dupe.

Free lunch is always popular with the looter class.

Yes, it is.
December 24 2017

President Trump kicked off his holiday weekend at Mar-a-Lago Friday night at a dinner where he told friends, "You all just got a lot richer," referencing the sweeping tax overhaul he signed into law hours earlier.
The president has spent many weekends of his presidency so far at the "Winter White House," where initiation fees cost $200,000, annual dues cost $14,000.

Me keeping what's mine in the first place isn't a "free lunch", looter.
Yes it is.
You want to reap the profits of living in America but don't want to pay for it, someone has to make up the difference.
Who do you think made up the difference when Trump payed just $750 in income taxes in both 2016 and 2017?
Who do you think made up the difference when he paid $0 in the 10 years prior to that?
LOOTER, just like your dear leader.
Doesn't address the point.

You claiming that me keeping what I earned is a "giveaway" works off of the presumption that 100% of what I earn belongs to you.

You are a fucking looter.
You don't earn anything except your weekly allowance.

Explaining the Trump Tax Reform Plan (investopedia.com)

Now stop your crying, little gipper, you'll smear your mascara.

I guess you don't care about the fact that your argument is based on myths, right? The rich already do pay "their fair share," and corporations pay a flat-rate 21% corporate income tax rate on top of all the state and local taxes that they pay, and on top of the payroll and unemployment compensation taxes that they pay.

If you like employees and good-paying jobs, you might wanna avoid overtaxing employers. Just a thought.

You got a little something on your face.

A Gallup tracking poll only buttresses the findings of those surveys. Over the course of several years, Gallup asked people whether they thought certain sectors of the country paid their "fair share" in taxes. Bottom line: Americans haven't thought that "upper-income" individuals and corporations have paid their fair share for many, many years.

Here's how many respondents said upper-income people don't pay their fair share:
  • 2019: 62%
  • 2018: 62%
  • 2017: 63%
People were even less impressed with the contributions of corporations:
  • 2019: 69%
  • 2018: 66%
  • 2017: 67%
Given that reality, Senate Republicans up for reelection next year might just take a pass on heading up opposition to Biden’s eventual bill unless they can find an entirely different point of contention. But by all means, McConnell, keep on crowing about Democrats raising taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations to pay for making high-speed internet available in rural areas. Hear, hear!

But don't worry, that money will trickle up to you, when we get it. No really.

Are the American people so stupid that they don't realize that taxes are passed along to the consumer in the manner of product price increases? My Lord...............
Costs of doing business are, of course, what go into setting prices. Taxes on consumption make sense in that regard, as long as they are not unfair/regressive.

Well, I guess when we are paying (I don't know) $2,225 for a one way flight from Denver to say, Kansas City, perhaps we'll understand..........Oh, and just for the record - that is a 500 mile flight.

Really?
You must think 100% of what I earn should go to the government to make up for what you don't pay in taxes.
You must be a blast when you go out to dinner, when the check comes, you forgot your wallet or sneak off to the bathroom, to let everyone else pay your portion of the bill.

Not only a looter, but a total dulard too.

Whatever, freeloader.
I'm not the one presuming that 100% of what I earn belongs to The State, freebooter.

They just add the cost of any taxes onto their goods and services and the consumer pay for it.
So, in your world corporations making billions in profit shouldn’t pay any taxes. WTF!

Your belief is silly since it is based on a fallacy. This is not a free market economy. It is a mix of crony capitalism, fascism, and socialism.

Many markets are controlled by one or two huge corporations. Where is the competitive nature of markets when a few huge corporations control those markets? You silly Adam Smith cons believe in foolishness, but the establishment loves you.

"Free market" is at best a text book concept.
Capitalism by itself would manipulate markets as best possible with resultant monopolies inevitable.
Capitalism by itself is neither savior nor "Satan". It is an economic approach that contributed greatly to the modern world and needs to be overseen to stem the excesses.
Those who are wise and rich understand wealth and how it has to function to the benefit of all if all are to be safe and peaceful in any sustainable way. Wisdom and humanity being what they are, this combination is rare.
Taxes may be a sloppy way to do things, but until we reinvent economics (as we must), taxes will continue. Costs of doing business will continue to be factored into prices.

So, in your world corporations making billions in profit shouldn’t pay any taxes.

What do the evil corporations do with the money after they earn it?
They pay the workers and the evil officers, all of whom pay taxes on it.
They pay dividends to investors, who pay taxes on it.
They buyback shares which causes the sellers to pay capital gains taxes.
They invest money back in the business.

Why are corporations such bastards?
