with the hands making the sign of the cross?

we Catholics do
I don't have a problem with it. Why would anyone have a problem with it? We don't as LDS but we do have our symbolisms, signs and tokens.

In YOUR religion do practice daily hypocrisy?
I think imperfect people do this daily. We aren't perfect but we strive to do better as time goes on. We repent of our hypocrisies and hope to do better. Do you practice daily hypocricies?

Are you curious as to the basis of doing so? If it's in the Bible then why do such things?

Because we believe in continuing revelation. Catholics believe their authority continued on after the apostles and prophets no longer were called by God to lead. But, that their Pope and traditions of their leaders could bring in new symbols, ordinances such as crossing one’s self.
LDS believe that revelation and instructions from God ended when there were no apostles and prophets called to lead. But, that in the last days the heavens (Godhead) would open back up and ordain new prophets and apostles with a new and everlasting covenant of marriage and eternal families. Much of which is in the Bible. “Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.” Marriage can only be given on earth. If done by the correct covenant, by the correct authority to bind the marriage on earth, it shall be bound in heaven. Marriage isn’t done or given to one another in heaven. Has to be given or done here on earth. Only in the holy House of the Lord (Temples). The eternal new covenant of marriage.

Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.

Yes, to the Apostles, not their successors.

Since Jesus made that statement the Catholic Church has adopted numerous, heretical, doctrines.

The Apostle Paul said that the scriptures were sufficient to make the man of God "complete". The Catholic Church obviously disagrees with Paul as evidenced by their plethora of heretical teachings. I'm so thankful that the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to that worldly system.

The Law of Moses made the people during the OT times complete as well. Complete concerning the covenants in which they made at that time. The Catholic Church, as well as all others that formed during the first few centuries and then during the Protestant reformation time should also keep those covenants made 2,000 years ago. However, Christ again came and established a new covenant and the need for new doctrines and ordinances became necessary in these the last days. The original Apostles did not have this final covenant, the New and Everlasting Covenant of Marriage. But, we now have it with it's accompanying covenants and ordinances. All those who accept this are no longer losing the blessings of eternal families in heaven because they could not fulfill the covenants and do the ordinances necessary for exaltation and eternal marriages.

As to whether the "successors" also retained the keys to bind on earth, after the last Apostle was removed from being able to comingle with earthlings, I would agree that no successor held the keys to binding on earth like families. But, before the coming of the great and terrible days of the Lord, the keys of Elijah, the keys to bind families together forever, would be restored, lest the earth would be smitten with a curse and totally wasted. Elijah appeared at the Kirkland Temple in 1836 and conferred the Priesthood keys onto Joseph Smith. And, these keys have been passed down from Prophet and Apostle ever since to the current day.

Thank you for explaining your theology.

My theology is based on the scriptures.
Everything I wrote is based on scripture. The binding on earth is bound in heaven is Matthew 16:19. First, what is "scripture?" Scripture is understood as God revealing Himself and His will through written words, making it fundamentally different from human-authored texts. Then, who is the arbitrator of whether something is from the Lord, Jesus Christ? You? Me? LOL! The fact is, anytime a person receives inspired thoughts and writes them down, they can be considered scripture. To be scripture for your family, you have that right to receive inspired direction for your family, not mine. If you write it down, it's scripture for your family as long as it is compatible with the foundational books of Christ's religious teaching through his servants, the prophets (apostles too). Amos 3:7. To be scripture for the world, the "Word" has to have come through a Prophet.

The Bible is in my opinion, the Blueprint of God's true Church.
Seventeen Points of the True Church of Jesus Christ
Why are these 17 necessary? Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has all 17 points of the true Church of Jesus Christ.
  • Christ organized the Church. Ephesians 4:11-14
  • The true church must bear the name of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:23
  • The true church must have a foundation of Apostles and Prophets. Ephesians 2:19-20
  • The true church must have the same organization as Christ’s Church in Bible. Ephesians 4:11-14
  • The true church must claim divine authority. Hebrews 5:4-10
  • The true church must have no paid ministry. Isaiah 45:13 and 1Peter 5:2
  • The true church must baptize by immersion. Matthew 3:13-16
  • The true church must bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. Acts 8:12-17
  • The true church must practice divine healing. Mark 3:14-15
  • The true church must teach that God and Jesus Christ are separate and distinct individuals.
  • John 17:11 and John 20:17
  • The true church must teach that God and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bones.
  • Luke 24:36-39 and Acts 1:9-11
  • The true church must have officers called by God. Hebrews 5:4; Exodus 28:1; Exodus 40:13-16
  • The true church must claim revelation from God through Prophets. Amos 3:7
  • The true church must be a missionary Church. Matthew 28:19-20
  • The true church must be a restored Church. Acts 3:19-20
  • The true Church must practice baptisms for the dead. 1Corinthians 15:16 and 29
