Like dreams, there may be times precognition may also be communication from God. Other times...I have a theory on that. The times precognition have occurred in my life involved occurrences involving great emotion. Can emotions be so great that sometimes they are like a rock tossed into a smooth, calm lake where ripples spread out in all directions from the place the rock hit the water? Can precognition be from something like a ripple that spread from that future event back into the past? Of course, I don't know, but I've often wondered about that because, with me, strong emotion at the time of the event has always been a factor.

I understand the theory on dreams is that it is one's own brain and subconscious cleaning house (so-to-speak). Almost all my dreams have been like that, just ordinary dreams, fun to think about for a bit, but then they fade and are forgotten. They have no real message. I can only speak of my own two experiences. Right now, both dreams are as vivid in my mind as they had been when I was dreaming--and I'm speaking of decades ago. And there was a message in both and an overall sense of peace, calmness, well-being--something like that, or all combined. Hard to describe.

A great-uncle of mine (when he was quite old) wrote in his memoirs of such a dream he had had when he was about seven. It had remained vivid all of his life, and his, too, held a message. He also described that sense of well-being.

Hope this helps. It's kind of like that old saying that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Sometimes a dream is just a dream.

Are you familiar with lucid dreaming? I experience lucid dreaming on a fairly regular basis and some of the last ones involved being asleep in my parents bed in the house where I grew up, dreaming while being aware that I was dreaming. However when I woke up from that dream, I was still asleep and continuing the dream, just one level up

I've also dreamed of things that were "unusual" only to discover the topic of my dream on the front page of the news when I logged into my AOL account. I was literally dreaming of this event (a variation of it actually in which I was the one in danger) as it was occurring:

who i live with hears those voices she claims torment her ... while awake - ellen is the real deal. few and far between, an avid bible reader never says anything what she reads in that book, there is one in every room.

Yes, we are talking in reality. Not voices in your head, not your interpretation of "signs", but something that is real, repeatable, and confirmable.

Why would you think it works that way? Divine providence is much more subtle.

That's amazing. I have had dreaming where I was aware I was dreaming, but never to the next level you have described. Dreaming an actual news event hasn't occurred in my dreaming.

The power of our subconscious was demonstrated to me when I first began studying computer programming in college. There would be times when I would be in the computer lab on campus and it would be late night and I would just give up trying to solve a particular problem for the evening. I would then grab some dinner and then head home to get some sleep. But one time when I fell asleep I immediately began dreaming about the code I had been working on and the problem I had been trying to solve and I literally found the solution by continuing my troubleshooting steps in my dream. And when I implemented the solution the next day when I got back to school it worked!

That still happens to me on occasion and I had a very vexing problem a few years ago that simply had no solution, but I prayed and asked for guidance anyway and the answer came, in my sleep while I was dreaming. Unfortunately the other parties involved wrecked things so that I never got the opportunity to implement the solution but the fact that I received an answer to a problem that didn't have one was what was most important to me.

All three of the major religions have passages indicating that God will make a way where none seems possible. So in answer to your question, perhaps it did

only servitude and denial would attribute a divine providence the heavens can not nor would desire to make occur.

I could just as well ask why not, right?

Maybe it's a test. Maybe God wants us to love him for who he is rather than what he can do for us. Maybe it's a law of nature that is self compensating.

I can't think of any good reason why God would want divine providence to be overt. Can you?

You are speaking of physical, human reality and there is something greater and a more powerful reality than our human reality. You are asking for God to reduce Himself into something you can play with, poke and prod, examine.

Failing in that, one might welcome "voices in one's head" and "hallucinations"--again an attempt to reduce God.

You are looking for something scientifically provable: measurable in some way, repeatable, and something you can confirm, correct? This returns us to my original, go-to position: Seek and find God. As you note, scientists repeat and confirm the lab work of other scientists. I have reported one can seek and find God. With this information, you can do your own work and evaluate your own experiences.

No .
There is no God in any personalised sense .
Never has been , never will be .

But Universe can communicate through Consciousness . And you can be trained and learn by yourself how to achieve this . Similar to recognising and growing Intuition .
