That will probably be the next cause and effect shit the right wing tries to pull.
If the dems flip Texas, it's all over for the GOP. That is the price they pay for not wanting to be the "big tent" party; you put all of your eggs into one basket and when the basket is no longer yours...you lose big. Anyway,
2008:

You see Bexar county (San Antonio) then Comal and Hays counties before you see the dark blue Travis county. You also see up north, Tarrant Cuonty is pink next to Dallas County. Both are surrounded by dark red.
2012:
More pink-ening around Travis and Bexar County asn some pink-ening around DFW. Also note Ft. Bend County (SW Houston) bright pink.
And keep in mind that was with a black man running.
2016:
Ft. Bend finally flips. Lots of Pink up around DFW.
And finally in 2020:
Tarrant finally flips as does Comal and Wilson Counties surrounding Austin.
In 2024, Denton and Collin County (the two pinkies up around DFW) are ripe to flip.
Anyway--to the point of the OP. Once Texas flips (I'm guessing 2032 or 2036), the GOP will of course scapegoat the latino influence and you'll see more of a push for the conservatives on SCOTUS to be willing to ignore all precedents and get rid of birthright citizenship.
