Immigration, legal and not, is not the problem some are making it out to be

As of 2021, the U.S. population was 332 million. Estimates are that there are 11.5 million undocumented people living here, so that is only 3.5%.

The problem is thinking that is a problem, let alone believing it is a crisis of some kind.

We have a historically low unemployment rate currently 3.7%, so the undocumented are not only not the problem, we need them here.

Immigrants are the folks who had the gumption to take the risk to leave society's they were familiar with to resettle in strange surroundings and they typically thrive. These are the people you should want to be here with lower crime rates than native born Americans and hard workers.

We should process work permits for those who are here and hire more immigration court staff to rapidly process asylum claims.

Stop making the undocumented, who the vast majority of which are good decent people, live in limbo so the wealthy can profit from their cheap labor.

Deport all illegals and their Republican and democrat enablers

Mac-7 is unable to show how many are legal and hgow many not.

Immigration, not MAGAslum, is the life blood of America and its success.

In 1863, eg, 2/3ds of NYC was immigrant.

1880 witnessed a population that was almost 40% immigrant.
1880 witnessed a population that was almost 40% immigrant.

1880 was a far different era than today

The west had millions of acres of farm land waiting to be plowed, and timber to be cut

The north was rapidly industrializing and in need of workers for its factories

But today uneducated foreigners are a drag on our economy snd our welfare system

Immigration, legal and not, is not the problem some are making it out to be

And it is the problem that others are making it to be. Lumping illegal and legal immigrants together is a foolish endeavor. Most people have zero problems with legal immigration.

I have a smaller problem with legal immigration

Immigration should be merit based and only for high contributors and their immediate family

Meaning wives and children only

But otherwise everyone with something to contribute is welcome

By breaking into our country in violation of our laws they prove they are not good people.

that has to do with refugees......not people coming here because they want better living conditions or a job...
Immigration courts determine their status. There's a huge backlog because Trump slowed LEGAL immigration down to a crawl.

well there is one president coyote who has fucked this boarder thing up a lot and doesnt have balls to stand in front of us and tell us how is he going to fix it....
I disagree on that, but I’m sure that doesn’t surprise you. (Ironically, Biden has maintained some of Trumps border policies and is planning on implimenting more.) But why hasn’t Biden made hugely increased the number of immigration judges so hearings can be expedited instead of taking years? We knew Trump wouldn’t, but Biden should have. The number of people coming to the border now is unprecedented but has been increasing for years, not just under one president, and it’s also a world wide phenomenon, which ought to clue us in as to the magnitide of the problem.

The border is a mess for reasons that go beyond a president and requires a substantial overhaul of the laws…only Congress can do that. Why is no one pressuring Congress to fix it? Why won’t they?

I can give you one guess…it’s politically a can of worms. And for tbe Republicans, it’s red meat for ginning up the base. Like with abortion, actually doing something and fixing will cost them political leverage.

Legally they are not here. They are hiding from the law.
Jobs you say. Well will you gladly hand them your on job or the jobs of your family to them?
There are thousands who are legally in line being processed. Where they are native of!!!!!! Not here in the USA.

We Americans owe it to ourselves to follow laws. We have some, as the above, who flaunt the laws and put illegals in front of the lawful applicants.

They are criminals due to breaking our laws. A law that has no consequences merely is advice.

Trump is at fault you say? Well for your information, it is Biden who opened up the doors wide open. And I am interested in you proving tha Trump slowed legal immigration down. Can you be brave and do that?

The doors have been opened for more than twenty years and both parties are complicit. Trump failed. Who can deny that.

You would be correct if the US was a bottomless pool of money and resources. It is not. Secondly along with the workers pouring in, there are sex traffickers and drug smugglers whose favorite is a little pill called Fentanyl that is essentially a fast acting poison that just last year KILLED 75,000 Americans of all ages, races and socio-economic status.

I agree, he has badly fumbled it (and Harris is a joke) - but tbe problem goes beyond him and no president has been able to fix so WHY IS NO ONE pressuring Congress to fix our antiquated laws? Nothing is going to change otherwise, it’s been punted long enough!
