I have no idea what the anti-deficiency law says and I certainly never claimed that Trump needs its permission to pay the troops.

What I know for sure is that I am not at all Interested in legal opinions from a random message board poster.

I was so happy when I heard this news about the donation, until I was informed that this violates the anti deficiency law. Nothing to do with Democrats. This donation is not something that has to be approved by, or voted on by members of Congress.

Democrats can approve, disapprove or do nothing about this, and the money will still not be used for paychecks for military members. It’s just the law.

I’m so pissed about this. I with this law didn’t exist! I hate laws sobre times.

Military members should be sent to the barracks or their homes (if living off base). Ships in port remain in port, ships at sea head to blue water and can engage in no operations other than maintaining steergage of the ship and self defensed posture. Other than that the crew can read in their bunks.

All federal employees (and I mean all) should be sent home. The only ones working should be The President and Congress since their compensation - per the Constitution - cannot be changed. It should be mandatory that BOTH chambers of Congress remain in session during a shut down and all members must remain within 10 miles of the Captital building (I don't care if they have to sleep in their offices).

No work, no pay.

No air traffic, shut down the rails, close the ports.

SS checks should not be issued, Military Retiree Checks should not be issued, MediCare/MediAid claims should not be processed, federal financial servicing should stop.

We won't stop having "shut downs" until such times as we make shut downs painful.

Trump wanted to move money already allocated to pay the troops, dems blocked it. Repubs proposed a clean CR, no funny stuff, just to keep government open while they negotiate. Dems said no. They want their agenda in the bill right now or they wont vote for it.

Even if you begrudge the Pentagon don't forget the people who are responsible for the shutdown. Senators and members of congress are still getting paid. Senator Chuckie Schumer might want to take your guns but he still has a paid armed guard protecting his hypocrite ass during the shutdown.

What makes you think his security is being paid? No government employees are currently being paid. Congress is elected and must be paid by the Constitution.

Trump has NOTHING to do with SCHUMER'S SHUTDOWN. Fifty-three members of the senate have voted to open the gov't. Schumer is holding the country hostage. The fact of the matter is Schumer wouldn't have squandered the last 26 days of valuable negotiating time if he had voted for the CLEAN CR. Fail.
