I’m so pissed. Military members’ paychecks will see $0.00 from the $130 million donation to the Pentagon!

This is just further proof that you lied about your military service.

I don't lie.

You know damn well what happens on a ship without people working! It really pisses me off that you try to get away with being stupid to this magnitude. Nobody should ever listen to another ******* word you say!

Your nice little fantasy/nightmare is not funny!

Maintaining the ship was fine. The point was that ships at sea head to blue water and not perform operational activities.

And the point being that with no exceptions to the government "shut down", everything comes to a stand still. The opinion is that if we REALLY had shut downs instead of the slow downs we currently have, that there would never BE shut downs.

We're 26 days into a slow down and the ONLY reason that the politicians in DC havent budged is because "we the people" are insulated from the "real pain". I say that shit needs to stop, if the government is going to shut down then pain SHOULD be the result. Not just "Oh, we're in a shut down - but don't worry the important people are still working, we'll just pay them later".

Screw that, if there is going to be a shut down, then shut it down and cause the pain - it will happen exactly ONCE. Then the politicians will get off their ass in DC and do their jobs instead of the theater the "shut down" currently is.

Why is Schumer trying to starve our military members?

Trump wanted to move money already allocated to pay the troops, dems blocked it.

And the GOP blocked True Shutdown Fairness Act (S. 3039) and Military and Federal Employee Protection Act (S. 3043) both of which would have authorized pay for the military and impacted federal employees.

Then why not head home? It was stupid and I cannot believe you are so stupid to even make such an asinine proposal. A retired Navy chief cannot be that stupid, or you would have never been allowed to stay in long enough to retire. You cannot possibly be that stupid!

I think you had better seek medical attention because the lack of judgement displayed here is indicative of some serious health or mental issues.

Not quite.

Your claim is that the troops will see 0.0 from the hundred and thirty million dollar donation.

If the troops see more than 0.0 from it, will you come back on this thread and admit you were wrong?

Also, tell us how happy you are, since you are "pissed" because you think that they are not getting it?

Who blocked it?

"The Shutdown Fairness Act was a Republican-drafted proposal to ensure pay for federal workers who remained on duty during the 2025 government shutdown, but it failed to secure cloture in the Senate on October 23, 2025."

  • The bill, known as the Shutdown Fairness Act and introduced by GOP Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, needed Democratic support to reach the 60 votes required to advance. It fell short with a tally of 54 to 45, with three Democrats crossing the aisle: John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, and Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock of Georgia.

There! You lied! Get some medical attention. Your brain needs a CASREP.

The maga party can vote anytime to open government.
You are playing “chicken” with a president with very strong will

He’s not a career politician and already rich

Unlike obama or biden who made made their fortune by staying in office

You should have checked the senate bill numbers.

The "Shutdown Fairness Act (S. 3012)" was introduced by Sen. Johnson (R) and blocked by the DEMs.

The "True Shutdown Fairness Act (S. 3039)" was instroduced by Sen. Van Hollen (D) and blocked by the GOP.

The "Military and Federal Employee Protection Act (S. 3043)" was introduced by Sen. Peters (D) and blocked by the GOP.

The (R) plan would have paid those currently working (including the military), but not those furloughed. The (D) plans would have paid the military, working employees, and authorized pay for furloughed employees.

So the R's blocked military pay also. Now make an excuse for why it was OK for the R's to block military pay, but not OK for the D's.

Since I don't think there should be anyone working and being paid during a shut down - I don't have a dog in this fight.

And if you think I'm lying, remember I'm the one supplying a link and it references

You're confused again

You're confused again

Where am I confused.

Was S. 3012 not introduced by the R's and blocked by the D's?

Was S. 3039 not introduced by the D's and blocked by the R's?

Was S. 3043 not introduced by the D's and blocked by the R's?

Military should be paid before Congress or anyone else.

Should and reality are two different things.

The Constitution mandates that the Congress's pay can't be impacted, not so the military.

No one should be (a) working or (b) get paid during a shut down.

#1 You "bothered" me, if you don't want me to "bother" you, don't respond to my posts.

#2 Disagree.

No one, NO ONE should be paid during a shut down.

If DC can't pass funding, shut it down. No work, no pay for any federal employee. Military, FBI, Federal Courts, ICE, Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue, DOD, Agriculture, Education, (insert Dept Name) here.

No checks cut for SS, no checks cut for Military retirees, no Medicare/Mediaid processing, no government financial services - which makes since because there wouldn't be employees to process.

If the governemnt were forced to actually shut down during a "shut down" - THERE WOULD BE NO SHUT DOWNs. It's this "slow down" to not cause pain that is the root problem.
