I was so happy when I heard this news about the donation, until I was informed that this violates the anti deficiency law. Nothing to do with Democrats. This donation is not something that has to be approved by, or voted on by members of Congress.

Democrats can approve, disapprove or do nothing about this, and the money will still not be used for paychecks for military members. It’s just the law.

$100 would mean a lot to a service member who lives in the barracks and eats in the mess hall, but now will get no money for small stuff like shampoo, razors, tampons, a six-pack on Friday night, or a sunday restaurant.

Democrats' and "not Democrats'" disdainful attitude toward the troops ("fulcrums" as the Democrats think of them) has always perplexed me.

Besides, Trump may find a way to break loose money for another partial paycheck and this hundred dollars per service member will help fill the gap.

Especially if they prioritize young married service member who struggle at the best of times.
