I'm having a hard time believing they haven't found the submersible (at Titanic site) yet

They are bringing in a robot ROV that can go deep as the wreck so maybe it may find it and hook a tether to it so can be resurfaced.

Everyone has known for a long time where the Titanic is
And we have all this modern tech and all
So why haven't they found this thing yet?

Actually, their best bet is being HEARD. If they were rapping on the hull, making noise, those sounds could be picked up by sonar long long away.

The most likely reason why they've disappeared and nothing has been heard is that there is nothing to find---- the sub had a defect and imploded under the roughly 6,000 PSI pressure.

I am a BIG fan of UNMANNED submersible vehicles for just this reason. WHY send manned submersible vehicles that deep where water pressures reach such extremes? Digital controlled robotics are simple to replicate, human bodies/life not so much.
This was not a scientific fact finding mission. This was a tourist joy ride.

I mean WTF when a submersible tube drops down on the Titanic site and search extends to the size of the state of Ct? Could the little tube have been hijacked by some thrill seekers?

According to the pictures I've seen the ship broke in half and the two halves sank next to each other. There was no explosion blowing it to parts.

The debris field was mapped at 3 miles by 5 miles. The ship broke in to at least 3, possibly 4 or 5 sections. The two larges sections, the bow and the stern, are approximately 2,000 feet apart. One of the other sections disintegrated on the way down.

OBVIOUSLY ANOTHER CASUALTY OF *CLIMATE CHANGE*.

Don't you people know anything? Sheesh.

Warmer oceans..... more acidic water..... increased carbon dioxide in the salty water.....

It all adds up.

How much of it was the submersible supposed to ogle? Wasn't the entire time supposed to be only a few hours?

The titanic wreckage is scattered over an immense area and the submersible is a tiny dot.
That and it will likely have a shitty signature due to it's mostly carbon fiber and titanium construction.

It had emergency flotation to bring it to the surface so I figure nobody was alive to activate it.

Or......

I think I read it takes around two and a half hours to reach the wreckage and just a little longer to return to the surface. They say the submersible spends 10 to 11 hours diving for each trip, so the entire time at the wreck would be approximately 6 hours.
