I am a conservative person, but I am not proud of what went down on Jan 6th of last year. There's nothing wrong with holding a rally to protest what Trump and many others believe and still believe the 2020 election was fraudulent and Trump was robbed. There's nothing wrong with marching down to the Capitol building and protesting long and loud about the results of that election. But there is everything wrong with breaking into that building while Congress was in session. That is not right. Doing that puts those people on par with the rioters in the summer of 2020 who damaged and destroyed police precincts and other public buildings.

I do not believe Trump wanted a break-in; I think he wanted everything else leading up to the event, but neither he nor I nor any other right-thinking American should find the break-in to be acceptable.

I do not believe that break-in constitutes an insurrection. The democrats have politicized it and blown it way out of proportion, thinking it will be to their political advantage. I understand what they're trying to do, distract everyone from the poor job they're doing running the country by by denigrating Trump and Trump supports and conservatives in general. I don't think it will work.
