I'm a Trump supporter, but I think a few of the democrazies ideas are OK

While I'm not against a modest increase in the higher marginal tax rate, our country has a very huge spending problem. There aren't enough billionaires and trillionaires to pay for all the shit we charge on our charge card. Tax the rich more is easy to say but we just can't keep on spending the way that we do. It is unsustainable.

I'm more or less against rent control. Yes, greedy landlords can be reigned in some but, for the most part, our problem isn't greedy landlords. It's democrat policies and lack of housing and the infiltration of illegals into our country which suck up the available housing we do have, all of which cause higher rents. Landlords need their costs decreased so they don't have to charge higher rents. Same exact thing with healthcare. Our high health care costs are mostly due to no policies in place to decrease the costs to insurers and providers. We let those prices rise exponentially and then our solution is to stiff the insurers and providers instead of actually addressing the high health care costs we all pay, including them.

I'm not sure where you're coming from with #3. However, I am in favor of means testing social security and cutting out the massive fraud in Medicare.
"democrat policies and lack of housing and the infiltration of illegals into our country which suck up the available housing we do have, all of which cause higher rents."
Absolutely CORRECT. Get rid of the illegals, Thank you ICE.

I'm generally in favor of limiting govt regulation as much as possible , but form follows function, and when you NEED some regulation to keep the country form going nuts, you need it. I accept reality.
Landlord costs is one of the most absurd red herrings ever to insult Americans' intelligence. Who thinks a landlord has to raise rents from $600/mo to &1800/mo to cover costs ? Or from $750/mo to $2500/mo ? We're not idiots. This is GREED, done mostly while the worthless, election-thief Joe Biden was asleep at the wheel.

Want health care ? Join the military.

"cutting out the massive fraud in Medicare."
Of course, yes, And lock them up.

"means testing social security"
I don't know what you mean by that.

I truly wish you democrats would learn about life in America

/—-/ You’re ignoring the fact that no one paid 91% when Eisenhower was in office. There were to many tax write offs, tax shelters, and deductions like credit card interest that reduced taxes. Libs forget to mention that.
I'm ignoring nothing. Yo think I never heard the write offs point before ? During the Eisenhower 91% tax era, sure, taxpayers had deductions & write offs, but much of that came from money those people PAID to other things (charities et al endevours), so they weren't just paying like 37%, and it stopped right there.

Hilarious, you still don’t know how taxes work

Independent by voter registration (formerly Republican). VERY Conservative on most things - immigration, Islamization, crime, LGBT lunacies, etc.

But how conservative are you if/when you support runaway rent gouging that is demolishing BUSINESSES large & small, all across the country.
Got an answer for THAT ?

Very easy to throw political catchwords around. Not so easy to address the CONTENT. Thus is about REAL LIFE, and what us happening to millions of Americans.
It's one thing to claim that you are conservative....
Its another thing altogether to actually think like a conservative....which you do not have the ability to do anything of the sort. You are so accustomed to being told what to think you cant have an independent thought even if someone was to offer you a Benjamin for doin so.

First off...
Triple N leases are down and the number past 60 days is climbing.
Meaning....those prices are NOT climbing. Only residential properties have experienced that....and are currently under pressure and falling. Between excessive inventory and DOM the need for "something" to be done is and has been passed. Especially as immigration is reversed....we currently have remigration....or people leaving the USA and especially certain areas that are under communist leadership. New York City is a prime example as literally billions of dollars of business and tax receipts have left.

Rent controls create condominiums for some who can afford it, slum lords for those who cant. Never has worked before....why try a proven failed policy again?

Got any answers for real conservative thoughts?

I voted for Trump 3 times, and I feel that he has made America ALMOST great again. I guess that makes me a MAAGA.
So what are the good ideas ? >>>

1. Tax the VERY VERY rich more. It won't hurt to raise taxes on the top 1% (leaving the other 99% alone). C'mon folks, if you're at over TRILLION $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ net worth like Elon Musk, you could pay a lot more in taxes, and still have waaaaaaay more money than the rest of us. Those extra tax $$$$$$$$ could hire more ICE officers, hire more police to lower crime rates, get help for renters being smashed by greedy landlords, help business owners losing sales due to renters paying astronomical rents.

2 I wouldn't say say that this is really a Democrazies idea (because they oppose it about as much as Republicans do), but there really does need to be SOME degree of rent control, to stop runaway rents, which have skyrocketed to undreamed of levels over the last 4 years (200% inflation & some places even worse than that).
Before anyone comes barnstorming in here with all the decades old landlord propagandas about their costs being so high > :puhleeze: no landlord's costs are going up 200+% or anywhere near that, and New York City has had thousands of buildings under rent control for 100 years & the buildings are still there, not abandoned, still occupied, landlords still making profits on them.

3.. This one comes in the from of a question because I'm really not sure about it. If Democrats (currently holding seats in congress) have proposed raising social security COLAs, post that (with sources).

Musks trillion dollar net worth is on paper only. He has less than a billion liquid, from what I’ve read.

Why would you tax him in 1 trillion dollars when all of that is tied up in the value of his companies?

Actually, Elon musk is a great example of why a tax on unrealized capital gains wouldn’t work.

Your example, 1% of 1 trillion is 10 billion. Musk doesn’t have that much in cash and he doesn’t make that much each year. The 1% number is conservative. Dems want a 25% tax on income and unrealized gains over 100M.

That would mean musk would have to pay 250 billion. Is this one time? Per year? Where does he get the money to pay it? Now he has to start liquidating his companies to pay the taxes?

Yeah, it just wouldn’t work

Might I suggest you pick up a copy of Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell, Protectionist? He explains exactly why rent control does not work and why it actually makes the problem of high rents worse.

As for increasing taxes? With all due respect...we don't have a revenue problem here in the US...we have a spending problem! Just eliminating the fraud and abuse of tax monies we already pay to Washington could pay for all kinds of worthwhile programs. Don't ask for more taxes until our politicians learn to treat the money we already give them with respect.

I was stunned to see how stupid protectionist is, unable to distinguish between net worth and annual income. That's weaponized stupidity right there.

The Left want's a "wealth tax" so bad they can taste it, Marvin! People like AOC think anyone that's a billionaire has done something underhanded to acquire that kind of wealth therefore they need to be punished for what they've done by having their wealth seized by Government!

/—-/ So you admit you were misleading us with your bogus 91% tax rate that no one paid.
Well here’s some facts for everyone mislead:
The short answer is nowhere near 91%. While that jaw-dropping headline rate existed on paper for individuals earning over $200,000 (roughly $2.3 million today), the tax code back then was structurally entirely different from what we know today.

When you factor in the progressive bracket structure, the carve-outs, and a massive landscape of deductions, the actual effective income tax rate paid by the top 1% of earners in the 1950s averaged between 16.9% and 21%.

Even if you aggregate every single tax imaginable—federal, state, local, corporate, property, and estate taxes—the total average tax burden on the wealthiest households capped out at about 42%.

The system worked entirely differently back then to keep that 91% rate a paper tiger.

There is more but this is enough to expose the the tax and spend liberals lies.
