As I said, I do. But I don't believe in forcing broad social change via the government. So, even if were President, I wouldn't advocate for such changes. Unless there was serious change in public sentiment on the matter. Unless there was real consensus.

As long as there is significant diasgreement on the matter, neither "side" will win. It will just be a lot of thrashing back and forth. That's the problem with your culture war. It's simply each "side" trying to bully the other (when they are in power).

I say that's not the choice. Trying to pass laws that force change on society, when there isn't widespread consensus on the matter, is bad government, regardless of which "side" is driving.

Germany, Denmark, and Sweden - all citizens are registered to vote AUTOMATICALLY once they become of age, and Canada has a partial system that also automatically registers their born citizens.....they DO NOT have to register to vote, or show ID or proof of citizenship to register.... Their govt already knows who their citizens are and all are automatically registered.

We should do the same....if you think their systems are great and we should follow them....
