Hold on to your metaphorical hats , because this will will blow yours right off and send it spinning into a black hole .

Two U.S. judges in separate federal courts scrapped their rulings last week after lawyers alerted them to filings that contained inaccurate case details or seemingly "hallucinated" quotes that misquoted cited cases — just the latest in a string of errors.

The perpertrator of the foul play was AI
Now , note exactly what the artificial "intelligence" did in these cases:

(1) it misquoted case citations, in other words: it altered relevant case law and thus inhibited and interfered with" stare decisis" , and

(2) altered witness testimony itself, introducing declarations not even part of a case record!

And it also did a third thing,

(3) it slowed the judicial process in each instance, as rulings had to be vacated, necessitating a re-filing without the errors!
This is progress !?!? .
And that raises the obvious question: Would you trust a law firm that uses AIs?

But it gets worse... much worse,

How Profit-Driven AI Jesus Chatbots Prey On Prayer-Driven Christians
One app, Ask Jesus, reports gaining 30,000 active monthly users within three days of launching.
And when visitors open AI Jesus, they’re greeted with the words: “Greetings, my dear friend. It is I, Jesus Christ. I have come to you in this AI form to provide wisdom, comfort, and teachings in the way of God and the Bible and Jesus Christ himself.”
Imagine some of our more unbalanced posters after reading that !!
A new study by Anné H. Verhoef, a professor of philosophy at North-West University in South Africa, examines this growing trend, warning that these chatbots pose a new kind of challenge: they don’t just imitate humans made “in God’s image” — they claim to be God.

Verhoef analyzed five popular “AI Jesus” platforms: AI Jesus, Virtual Jesus, Jesus AI, Text with Jesus, and Ask Jesus. He found none were created or endorsed by any church. Instead, they are run by for-profit companies with names like SupremeChaos, AllStars Productions LLC, and Catloaf Software.

The author of this Topic is Dr Joseph Farrell and I have copied extensively from his article on this matter which you can find on his Giza Community site , titled AI COMPOSERS, TRANSCRIPTION ERRORS, AND ANTI-“CHRISTS” , August 22, 2025 /

He also points out that there are two meanings for "Anti" for the term , Anti Christ
The first is the commonly understood ----- against
The other is ----- As a replacement for .

A more than half serious remark around the possibility of AI being the Anti Christ , not some individual like IQ-2.0 or DeCrappitus on his Horsey Horse .

More seriously , the findings and implications of this are more than huge .
Humongous is a word I like .

I do not think AIs are able to be more stupid than human beings - but if they should be I also would not be astonished. They are made from human beings.

„Zwei Dinge sind unendlich, das Universum und die menschliche Dummheit, aber bei dem Universum bin ich mir noch nicht ganz sicher.“
Albert Einstein
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

If AI is manmade and people cannot be trusted, then how can AI be trusted.

It is just a regurgitation of what people think and say.

It is nothing more than rebranding a google search

If your calculator gave the wrong answer for certain calculations, would you describe that as the calculator "lying"?

Lying is a choice humans make, they choose to lie (and this forum is littered with examples) but computers cannot choose, all they do is follow rules, hence they cannot be said to "lie".

According to the OP, in reality, AI cannot think, lie, and cheat. AI is Wikipedia for the gullible and lazy.

No
I would simply conclude that the incorrect answer had been given and that therefore the calculator needed inspection and likely repair .

Am not clear what point you wished to make .
In the examples I gave ,AI had altered statements and invented pieces of information .

Entirely different in every possible way from your Calculator
scenario .

No possible

Doesn't matter it still a computer, it has no abilities that a calculator doesn't have other than massively more memory, speed and data but the system is identical otherwise, following rules, it has no choice, it can only follow the rules written in the code.

Not what I said ,or what the report that I quoted from said .
It is clear that in our terms AI misquoted and altered things .

That makes the system presenrly unsafe and dangerous .

But a programmer / specialist might be able to explain How and Why that happened and assure everybody 100% that such error areas could be permanently eradicated .

You appear not to understand how a simple machine fault is totally different from a system that deliberately Misquotes and Alters .

A machine cannot "deliberately" do anything because a machine cannot deliberate (verb). My comments here are about the terminology the way language is being used to anthropomorphize machines, it's highly misleading.
