I can live with that. However the supply chain types of jobs must step up and pay a wage one can live on. $25 per hour isn't going to cut it. That was a bad wage before inflation. You have the luxury of saying that because of your government pension. A lot of Americans in the middle and lower class are struggling.

If I had an old, unreliable HVAC system that sprung a leak, and it was dripping through the ceiling, I would first stop the leak, then repair the ceiling, and then - knowing the HVAC is doomed for failure eventually, turn my attention to it.

Just think of the elderly in assisted living, who saved their entire lives to be able to support themselves in their old age, watching their IRAs being wiped out. They will be living in the Medicaid facilities, the same as lower-income people, or middle-class people who spent to the hilt, and everyone - the formerly affluent and the poor - will all live the same.
