Yeah..., right. That's the leftist narrative. The truth is, no one in the media or on this forum knows all the details on why the Trump administration feels it is necessary to do things in this way. Geopolitics is very complicated and most of the information needed to make decisions is secret. There is a reason why the government can't kick this can down the road anymore. But don't let that stop you from hating everything Trump and falling for media propaganda. My guess is this reaction to tariffs will eventually come back to bite the democrats in the ass when things become more clear.

There is no happy ending for Trump and these tariffs. Period. Even if by some miracle Trump is "correct" and these tariffs help the U.S., it will be a very slow process that takes several years. There will be a lot of suffering by millions of Americans before the tariffs finally "pay off", including millions of MAGA voters.
China has said they aren't going to negotiate until Trump drops the tariffs. I believe China more than a guy like Trump, who lies every time he speaks.

Why would Trump EVER give up the trade war with China if they give nothing in return? That isnt going to happen. The US will do just fine if we settle all the trade wars with the rest of the world, which we certainly will. We dont need China. China on the other hand will crumble if they dont make a deal, so they WILL make a deal. They will act tough for as long as they possibly can, then they will make a deal.
Democrats have no idea what tariffs are, what they do or why Trump is using them. Every trade agreement Trump wrangles out with tariffs to democrats is Trump caving. The funny thing is, it really doesn't matter how insane the narrative is in reality, all that matters to the club is how many thousands of times you repeated the insane narrative. It's not just him. Every leftist is from the same cookie cutter, they all repeat the exact same things, almost verbatim, with certain buzzwords used ad nauseam. Not one stops to think that maybe they are being used/manipulated to spread these narratives and never go into much thought at all if it is all just political propaganda BS or not. If they were to actually be forced to listen to both sides of an argument they would realize that global trade is off balance and the root cause of it is China with very predatory trade practices that greatly benefit China and ruin the local economies of the rest of the world. Until now, no one was willing to confront them and everyone just kicked the can down the road. China is outplaying the US and Europe and will soon be the dominant superpower and then the American way of life will change drastically. I really think the leftists don't care about that. But when it does happen they will not be happy.

While conservatives promote tolerance, rugged individualism and self-actualization, the Left operate like a Borg hive mind through centralized power--- one mind, one message. Intolerance, all that matters is the party, not the individual. That is why they have no tolerance for anyone deviating from the central plan. Look at how they attacked Chuckie Schumer the minute he told them to think smart and to pick their battles wisely.

When asked, they have no answers, no defense; Hollywood directs the message both in Washington and through outlets like The View and Stephen Colbert. It is like there is a playbook they hand out that says when asked about this, say that. Go up to any progressive on the street and corner them on any issue and they know absolutely nothing about what is really going on and they all repeat the same imbecilic stuff verbatim.
China has been trying to monopolize the world for years. They are everywhere trying to take control of Panama, Brazil, Canada, Europe. If they are not stopped now, they will call all of the shots. Hard to say what leftists care about, they are not receptive either because they are too stupid to understand or are bought into it.
Consistency was never the left's strong point. Their beliefs and actions change with the political winds. It doesn't take much effort to find thousands of instances where the democrat leaders said something has to be done with China's predatory trade practices, but they never actually did anything. And when someone on the right finally grows a pair and does something about it, the left gets scared to death that it may be a win for the other side and they have to derail it as much as possible, even if it means handing the keys over to China. It's true, if you pay attention to this tariff debate, if a leftist has to choose between Trump and China each and every one chooses China. I bet if Trump says he is going to make abortion legal right up until birth, just like the left wants, the left would then, all of a sudden, become pro life. It really is ridiculous how deranged the left has become. They used to be more intellectual, but these neo-leftists are now completely anti-intellectual.
