They shouldn't.

The Lt. Gov has accusations against him, but he is innocent until proven otherwise. An accusation does not warrant a resignation.

The Governor, who has acknowledged the photos, has not shown since those photos were taken, to exhibit a pattern of behavior that would be considered racist. Therefore, it is a photo of a young man who made a poor choice and he should not be made to pay for that for his entire life. I don't like the guy and think he is morally reprehensible with is his stance on other issues.

I've long taken my lesson from the Ox Bow Incident. I forget what year we read that in English class, it's been a mighty long time ago. It made for a good movie too. As far as movies go I sure preferred Intruder in the Dust over To Kill a Mockingbird. I'd guess Mockingbird is a better book, based on hearing that Faulkner is murder to read.

Lucas was an interesting character. His gram, a slave belonging to Lucius McCaislin, committed suicide when Lucius stopped screwing her after a couple decades and started raping their daughter. Edmonds, who helps Lucas out in Intruder, is his cousin, a McCaislin on the distaff.
