In post #90, SavannahMann wrote: 'Socialism is the control of the society, and economy, of a nation. China is allowing just enough capitalism, and freedom, to stay competitive while clinging to the power of control of the socialist government.'
Like a secret agent's one-time pad, China's scenario was somewhat presupposed by Deleuze and Guattari, and even has some resonance with the Musician's trade:
'Enclosures are molds, distinct castings, but controls are a (modulation [italics]), like a self-deforming cast that will continuously change from one moment to the other, or like a sieve whose mesh will transmute from point to point.....This is obvious in the matter of salaries: the factory was a body that contained its internal forces at a level of equilibrium, the highest possible in terms of production, to lowest possible in terms of wages; but in a society of control, the corporation has replaced the factory, and the corporation is a spirit, a gas.'

Thus, one certainly does not not allow capitalism to escape critique either.

Where to start, where to start. I guess the start, is the best place. You act as if China is the First Nation to get the “Socialism” question correctly. But that is dreaming. It isn’t that China is implementing Socialism right, it is that they are getting it wrong, and slightly correctly by the Capitalist model.
Chinese Government owned Factories produce crap at the least efficient manner imaginable. The ones that are more profitable, and more efficient, are the ones that are owned by the Chinese Industrialists, and sell products to foreigners, including us the Gwai, White Devils.
This is the pinnacle of Chinese made cars. It is twice as expensive as the Capitalist Rolls Royce Phantom.
The Hongqi L5 is the most expensive Chinese car you can buy
That car looks like it is so sinister, your address can only be inside a Hollowed Out Volcano.
Now, onto your “recent proof that capitalism sucks” argument. Amazon and not paying taxes. Pfui.
That is actually a good example of the difference between a Socialist and Capitalist system. The Capitalist System utilizes the Tax Code to manipulate society. The Socialist system ignores the written rules to benefit the elites.
Here’s how it works in the Capitalist System. The Politicians in an effort to help out a friend, or advance a cause, convince other Politicians to allow a rider to be attached to the bill reducing the taxes, or creating credits, for various nonsensical programs. If the company has solar panels, they get a certain amount of tax break. If they use high efficiency lighting, they get a different tax break. If they have ride sharing, or similar transportation methods in place for workers, they get even more tax breaks.
Amazon launches stealthy employee shuttle system with nondescript buses and little fanfare
The Rich hire accountants and lawyers to comb the written rules, and find every single one of those breaks they can. Inevitably they will be audited, that is to say checked by the Government enforcement arm, the IRS, to insure that they are in compliance with the law.
The Rich will store money overseas, or claim it is actually the money of a wholly owned subsidiary that happens to be in a Tax Haven. The Cayman Islands are famous for this sort of thing.
You call it cheating, when in reality, it is literally playing within the rules. It may be unethical, and I would probably agree to that providing you were able to illustrate it without referring to the Little Red Book, or other nonsensical texts.
Amazon did not make the rules. Amazon had no power to write the loopholes into the tax code. They only took advantage of all they could, like the Green Energy credits that the Left put in, and the Right agreed to. Slap some Solar Panels on the roof, and whamo, you have a tax credit right there. Yay. Lower taxes.
Now, the Socialist system, is a little different. The Rich guy can hire lawyers, accountants, and all that. But the problem is that those people would only be effective if the rules were not written in pencil. In the Socialist Country, the Rich or somewhat powerful curry favor with the actually powerful, to have a phone call made and someone told that Bob ain’t gonna pay taxes.
But propaganda value being what it is, you and the other leftist types, all rush out and scream that Amazon paid no taxes, they cheated. You do not tell the truth, and you may not be aware of the truth. You don’t tell the people that Amazon took advantage of laws and loopholes to achieve this goal.
If all you were wanting is equitable taxation, without the loopholes, you would be a Republican and in favor of the Flat, or Fair, tax. But you’re a leftist, and you want the society controlled, and the Civil Rights eliminated, because it’s not fair that you aren’t a member of the brilliant upper crust. That is why you rush about screaming that Amazon paid no taxes. When I hear that, I know how they did it. It wasn’t through illegal means, but means that are available to every business, and rarely enough taken advantage of.
Out of curiously, how do you feel about tax incentives so people will buy electric cars instead of internal combustion?
