Seriously, He was executed by experts in the field. They knew He was dead. Are you saying that Jesus was alive in the tomb for 3 days and nights?
The Mishnah is too deep of a rabbit hole for me. I'll stay in the shallows.SO? the Mishnah is commentary----a bit too much for your shallow mind
My point was that Jonah was dead in whale's belly. God resurrected him.Seriously, He was executed by experts in the field. They knew He was dead.
Jonah "in the belly of the beast" was a metaphor. Jesus was dead in the "whitewashed tomb" of pharisaic beliefs and practices 30 years, 3 days, until he repented and "heaven opened up to him"My point was that Jonah was dead in whale's belly. God resurrected him.
Do you believe God performed any supernatural act ever?Jonah "in the belly of the beast" was a metaphor. Jesus was dead in the "whitewashed tomb" of pharisaic beliefs and practices 30 years, 3 days, until he repented and "heaven opened up to him"
God "raised up" (from the dead) every single prophet who bore witness until they were "taken up"
A euphemism for being killed.
Every "eyewitness account" of Jesus after he was killed was an eyewitness account of what was seen and heard in dreams, the medium through which God communicates to humans, convincing the disciples that Jesus survived death and was alive and well living in the eternal realm of God.
The reward of the righteous.
Ding has the courage to proclaim that his bibles are not intended to be literally true. and i agree for obvious reasons!I take back 80% of the flames I leveled at ding. He's a real soldier.
Not the fannypack ones, though.![]()
Well said. Ding and I are no longer alone in not believing the bible bullsh-t.Jonah "in the belly of the beast" was a metaphor. Jesus was dead in the "whitewashed tomb" of pharisaic beliefs and practices 30 years, 3 days, until he repented and "heaven opened up to him"

If you're with us on that Dook, welcome aboard
As for those who believe the bibles are literally true, that also takes courage. Only one (The Hawk) has so far come out of the closet on believing that malarky.
I did not and I believe The Bible is true. Get away from me, filthy Commie!Well said. Ding and I are no longer alone in not believing the bible bullsh-t.
The Dook just came on board with us too..
I think we are by far the majority but most Christians are afraid to say so for fear of going to Firelake for being a backslider.
"Jew" are people who descended FROM JUDAH -- ONE of the twelve Tribes of Israel.Alright so then in other words Jesus was just a Jew because of His heritage line.
No, a Jew is someone who is of the Jewish religion. Members of the Jewish religion come from a variety of tribes (or none, in the case of conversion). The word "Jew" developed from the Kindom of Judah which had members of a variety of tribes, though mostly Judah, Benjamin and Levi."Jew" are people who descended FROM JUDAH -- ONE of the twelve Tribes of Israel.
So a Jew who is an atheist isn't a Jew?a Jew is someone who is of the Jewish religion.
"Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers (ancestors of those in the 1st century) by the prophets, but in these last days, (beginning when the church/kingdom of God, church of Christ, was created by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ who completed/fulfilled all the requirements of the Law and the Prophets -- Matthew 5:17. 16, Acts 2) He (the Father) has spoken to us (the Apostles and saints gifted with the information from heaven, the Holy Scriptures through the Holy Spirit of God, and delivered through Jesus Christ -- 2 Tim. 3:16-17, which contains everything required by the man of God to find the salvation offered by Jesus' sacrificial grace)............(God, today)HAS SPOKEN TO US THROUGH HIS SON, WHOM HE (THE FATHER) APPOINTED THE HEIR OF ALL THINGS, THROUGH WHOM ALSO HE CREATED THE WORLD." -- Hebrews 1:1-2Jonah "in the belly of the beast" was a metaphor. Jesus was dead in the "whitewashed tomb" of pharisaic beliefs and practices 30 years, 3 days, until he repented and "heaven opened up to him"

"Carl of -whatevah"----insists that the MISHNAH is notSO? the Mishnah is commentary----a bit too much for your shallow mind
No, I don't recall saying that.So a Jew who is an atheist isn't a Jew?
So a Jew who does not believe God exists is of the Jewish religion? No, I don't recall saying that.
Yes.So a Jew who does not believe God exists is of the Jewish religion?
How so?Yes.
I'm not sure what you are asking. A person who is Jewish by birth is Jewish and bound by Jewish law. Whether that person is a member of the jewish community (that is, able to participate in certain communal functions) is a different question. The person is still Jewish. (and, by the way, labeling a matter of Jewish law as "fake news" is insulting to Judaism -- just because you don't know the law doesn't make the law fake)How so?
