'If I Don't Win It's A Rigged Election'

I see it. I just don't much care. These culture wars are always happening. Just like the left fueled the rise of the racist republican party by driving southern whites to them with support for CRAZY PC STUFF like interracial marriage and basic rights for brown people and women.

I can call out nuttery as I see it. But be careful what you say, because you can get close to saying that American progressives should allow themselves to be held hostage by 30% of the population who might get grumpy.
It's not the policy position or the goal that is the problem. It's the way it is addressed. Screaming RACIST and HOMOPHOBE and ISLAMOPHOBE when a person dares to utter a critical word fixes nothing. It only creates and exacerbates resentment and division, bringing us "leaders" like Trump as a reaction.

It's the same thing as the Right screaming COMMIE and SOCIALIST and EVIL at anyone who doesn't bend over for the Orange High Hard One. These kind of tactics improve nothing, they solve nothing, they fix nothing. They're meant to put the target on the defensive and avoid honest conversation.

I don't disagree. But this is not new. Nor is the right's glee in doing all of that as well, when making their little tu quoque points.

But to say that turned a rational, ethical person to worshiping Trump is quite a stretch. We can't account for every halfwit and crazy running around, on either side of the aisle.

Well, look at the things that excited them early. The Muslim ban. The wall. The way they loved/love how he's Politically incorrect. "You, will not, replace us". That's the kind of thing they've celebrated since Escalator Day. He's their big FUCK YOU to PC and Identity Politics. He's their big orange culture warrior.

And I'm definitely not saying that anyone is rational or ethical. What he has done is exposed what has been at the core of the hardcore Right for a long time, bubbling just underneath the surface. There is nothing ethical about the way his followers forgive the things he does and says.

Which was just a resurfacing of the bigotry that has always existed. Trump made it fashionable again. I think we agree on that.

People on both sides wll always push too far. Where is the liberal candidate that runs (and wins) on the platform of all white people being racists and all straight men being homophobes and all religious people hating women?

Seems like this "backlash" only works in one direction and for one side.

I could see the resentment building, but had no idea that it was this deep and intense.

Remember, this isn't fully organic. They've had voices they trust, whispering in their ear, exacerbating their resentment, since the day Limbaugh went national.

I understand and agree with many of their grievances on this at the core level. But as the ends of spectrum just love to do, they have vastly overcompensated.

And always will.

So where is the liberal candidate that runs and wins on it? Doesn't exist.

So in the end, you are saying liberals have to alter their behavior, because right wingers are crazy and will harm the country.

That's negotiating with terrorists.

No, I'd like to see behaviors altered on both ends so that we can find ways to work together to improve things.

This won't happen as long as the goal is the opposite.

Trump will be the GOP nominee, if he is elected he will be a convicted criminal awaiting in jail (Willis will convince the Judge he is a danger to society if on bail), and we all will be in for a world of hurt.
We are hurting already. Our nation has lost its way as we are near totally into ourselves.

This is not about replacement. This is about forced agendas. And frankly, what is in the so-called replacing is not keeping up what is replaced. We are in decline. The good news is the Western Hemisphere is sparsely populated as compared to the rest of the world. Figure a third of the whole population killed and with the northern plain states and much of central Canada emptier in people a new nation can be forged from after you idiots destroy the current nation. A prog and ethics....that's a new one.

Democracy in the US became untenable when we decided to use it to transform society. Turns out people don't much like being "transformed" against their will.

Months before the first primary ballot is cast, Donald Trump and his surrogates are using a combination of flattery, bullying and threats to make sure state parties put their thumb on the scale and ensure he will be the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nominee.

According to a report from the New York Times, the former president has been working the phones, calling key state Republicans in an effort to get a leg up on the competition for the nomination and that has led one former high-profile member of the Trump administration to claim the fix is in.

As the Times is reporting, "Mr. Trump and his political team have spent months working behind the scenes to build alliances and contingency plans with key party officials, seeking to twist the primary and delegate rules in their favor. "

Put another way, Ken Cuccinelli, who served under Trump but now backs Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), explained, "They’ve rigged it anywhere they thought they could pull it off.”

Trump is the worst sore loser of all time. His M.O. is to always accuse others of fraud whenever he loses. As with all his other behaviors, flaws, and shortcomings, he projects what he does onto others. So much so, one has to wonder if he was born in Kenya.

With each successive loss, Trump escalates his reaction.

So just imagine Trump's reaction when he loses in 2024.

If Trump loses to Biden in 2024 it would have to be by cheating.
Biden is unelectable, he's an idiot.

That is about what it boils down to. People have no choice but to vote for Trump. This country cannot stand another 4 years of illegitimate governance.

The problem is, you really believe that.
He has good reason to.

Potatohead:

"I won because we created fraudulent ballots in Democrat controlled swing districts thanks to my Chinese friends creating a Pandemic".

"My Chinese friends made me rich, doncha know?"
