Flashback: Remember when DeSantis thought he could beat Trump in the Primary?

There are no comparisons between Trump and his support, and Biden and his support. None. They are polar opposites.

The Dems were fucked but talked themselves into believing Biden, and then Harris, could/would win. They had no choice. And again, the popular vote was very close by historical standards.
Harris.raised over $2B by some estimations. They perhaps should have allowed the will of their voters to decide the outcome, even if it wasn't the outcome they wanted. Pelosi was determined that "Trump.never step.foot in the WH again". A great slogan that drove all.of those donations but didn't defend the democraric process as Dem voters felt disenfranchised.

I don't remember the specifics because I was going to vote third party regardless, but the argument was that it was too late to do this the normal way, and that there were no internal party mechanisms to start over that late. I don't know. But the argument was that someone essentially had to be anointed, and Kamala was the obvious choice. If they had gone over her head, the optics of the obvious pick being sacked would have looked terrible.

Well, this is why the choice for V.P is so important. I recall at the time Biden was first speaking of Harris when she was first chosen and my instincts told me that it wasn't his first choice, perhaps Pelosi or Obama pushed it on him I dont know.

The party has its ideological commitments. It was going to be a woman regardless, and a minority woman was a bonus.

The party lost its way.

Trump could have won by 7 votes and he'd/they'd be calling it a historical landslide and a strong mandate. This remains a 50/50 country, but we're going to be served something we haven't seen before.

I think we're doing to get the same things we've been getting since Reagan. More big spending, big government leadership. (If you can call it leadership)

Trump supporters have put so much faith, time and effort into Trump. They've made enemies out of friends over him. Some have even disowned their kin folk over him. So when someone comes them with facts that prove they were wrong to do all that for him, it's a hard pill to swallow. That's why they're constantly moving the goal post and not holding him accountable.
They were duped. Just like the Biden supporters were. Just like the Obama supporters were. And all the supporters of every bad president in our history.

This has always been about sociology for me. And when a large portion of the most prosperous country on Earth feels hopeless enough to pin their hopes on one guy, that says something pretty damning about us as a society. It was bad enough with Obama, and his presidency was unremarkable. What we have been seeing here is on an all-new and ugly level.

Supposedly the first few days/weeks of the new administration will be shock and awe. Good. Let's get through this and see how the electorate reacts. Assuming, of course, that Republican states will certify votes that they lose in the future. That's my bigger concern right now.

Just a quick reminder of the short work Trump made of DeSantis during his strong GOP nomination process. Ron would have easily have lost to Harris so depending on which candidate you wanted to win, you are happy that DeSantis (and others) were crushed quickly and decisively by Trump. His Primary win was more dominant than even his.G.E win. A surprising positive was the rise of Vivek, let's hope he lives up.to his political potential Trump Crushes DeSantis in New GOP Primary Poll, Despite Florida Governor's Heavy Campaigning.
As Ron DeSantis' 2024 presidential campaign continues facing setbacks, former President Donald Trump is trouncing him in the polls.

A New York Times/Siena College poll released Monday sees Trump leading DeSantis by 37 points, 54% to 17%, among likely Republican primary voters. Those numbers come on the heels of a recent Fox News poll showing DeSantis trailing Trump by 40 points in the Iowa GOP presidential caucus.

Optimism about a DeSantis campaign was among many Republicans following his November 2022 landslide reelection as governor, which came as candidates endorsed by Trump suffered losses throughout the country during the

DeSantis was the great hope of the Rinos. The Republican base said no way.

Yeah, I think the closest contemporary analog we have to this is North Korea. There is a large group of people in the government who choose to enable the leader out of a mixture of advancement, self preservation and outright fear. And they know that even the citizens of the country would swallow them up if they turned against the strongman.

Obviously Europe is the historical comparison.
Trump will get his way with these cabinet picks. Lackeys, suckholes, toadies, incompetents. Figure heads who will do his bidding, with Senate Trump party loyalists 100% complicit in the disaster that is coming. They know Trump is no good, but apparently they don't care. A good example is Joni Ernst who knows Hegseth is an unqualified hack but she's supporting him anyway so that she can keep her cushy job in the Senate Boys & Girls club.

Hopefully, their conscience if they have one, will not allow them a good nights sleep for the next four years & beyond. That's a big "if".

Well, the shock & awe is coming in two days with EO's reflecting Project 2025 which Trump & his bootlickers lied & denied wanting any part of.

But it won't matter one bit to the MAGA cult.

I guess this is what it's like when a country turns like this.

Suddenly we can understand history much better. How something like this happens.

I sure never thought I would see it here, of all places.

I strongly supported DeSantis during the Scamdemic, but since it's become clear he is protecting Pharma by refusing to enforce the law, FS 790.166 and remove the bioweapons from stores and doctors offices and hospitals. He's a fraud.

Though I already knew DeSantis was an Israelite, having held his first ever cabinet meeting as Governor in Israel, he did a good job during the crisis. Things have changed. He and Trump are both Israel First sort of politicians.

It's not important what Trump thinks of DeSantis.

Trump doesn't lead MAGA. MAGA leads Trump. I am MAGA.

DeSantis is one of my Champions who has won me many great victories over WEF/Democrats and protected the children of Florida from them.

Mess with kids, mess with God.

:salute: DeSantis
The WEF's are out to get you boy. You better run and hide. Oh, I bet you dream of those nasty old wef's.

No, but you better hope me, my Champions, and my angels can defeat the evil or Jesus will return and do it. If Jesus returns, he will turn the seas red with the blood of the sinners and me and my angels will bare the burden.

Do you have any idea how much work it is to burn the sin out of a soul?

The backlog will be horrendous.
You do know Jesus was a WEF?
