If Hillary Clinton won the election, would she be trying to jam healthcare reform down our throats too? She already tried once and that didn't work out so well for her. :eusa_think:

No way - the Clinton's are among the most pragmatic political animals at the DC-level of this generation.

The Clintons know well the benefits of moving to the middle as that is where the political "sweetspot" of America is found.

That being said, if the economy continues to lurch toward a moderate recovery - which will in turn be exagerated on the positive side by the media, Obama will survive this current decline still intact and be in a strong enough position to win re-election in 2012.

What is most at stake right now is the number of Republicans who will win governorships and Congressional seats in 2009 and 2010 - right now the momentum is in their favor.

Obama is a bit like a petulant child - he needs a stop-gap between his concerted vision of his own self importance and at times, radical agenda, and what mainstream America is comfortable with. That stop-gap, as in 1994, could be the Republicans if they can pick up some political victories in the near-term.

Right now, the only real hurdle to Obama and the leftist Dems controlling the party - is the Internet media and message board community, with a strong assist from such figures as Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.

With Hillary, there is actually a chance that healthcare would have passed.

Obama's inexperience is his Achilles heal. A weakness that Pelosi exploits at every opportunity.

No, I think she would have tried it "Hillary Style". Not face to face down our throats but in the form of a huge strap on shoved up our asses.

Please... You don't buy her "my 35 yrs of experience" line do you?

I dunno. But this problem is only going to fester. I think the Repubs will be successful in defeating anything this go round...which will result in more uninsured and higher costs all around as we pay for ER treatment for hangnails.

Interestingly I read a recap of who is most against healthcare reform and the majority are over 50...those that want to hold on to medicare, perhaps.

Pretty ironic.

If we could replace Barack Obama with Hillary--Bill Clinton again--I think most of us would be doing "backflips" out in the street.

The one thing they aren't is "socialists." And watching Hillary during the primary season--it was obvious that she knew more about the problems with health care than anyone else did.

You Dems. BLEW it big time by nominating Barack Obama.:clap2:

yeah, but she wouldn't have Obamas communist organizations behind her.
Bill would have to have heart attacks on cue, al la Sanford and sons to make the final push

FOOL!

Health care reform is a nobrainer. Wonder why you never read/view things like 5 Capitalist Democracies & How they deal with PAYING Health Care.

American ingenuity will run rampant given a new health care insurance structure ---non profit --- but you have no faith in it.

Why do we need a for profit health care insurance industry? please offer an answer

I'll just go ahead an consider the source on that one...

Again, I'll consider the source. :doubt:

The D-bag invoking the need for faith! Oh how the mighty have fallen.

I'm happy with my healthcare, and I'm certainly not wealthy by any stretch. So why should I support a plan that even the proponents can't seem to clearly explain? Please offer an answer

Hillary's healthcare plan was more socialistic than Obama's.

Complacency? Naiveté? Wouldn't you rather have more control over how your health care system is run?

Suppose you lose your job and can't afford health care?

That wasn't an answer...you gave him questions.

We need to expand coverage without altering the care segment of the system. Its about the coverage not the care

putting the govt in charge of care means we have no control.....you think you have control over the govt in other areas? That naivete.
