ICE arresting more innocent people than criminals. Up 800% more under Trump!

AI Overview

In fiscal year 2025 (starting October 1, 2024), ICE has arrested a significant number of individuals with no criminal convictions. Data from June indicates that 65% of the over 204,000 people booked into detention had no criminal convictions, according to the Cato Institute. Furthermore, over 93% of those detained had no history of violent offenses, according to the American Immigration Council.

Human and legal rights are being thrown out the window by the Trump administration.

AI Overview

Based on recent news reports and statements from civil rights and human rights organizations, there are concerns and allegations regarding the Trump administration's approach to human and legal rights in 2025. These include:
  • Immigration Enforcement: The administration has been accused of adopting policies that disregard due process for immigrants and asylum seekers, including expanding immigration enforcement to target foreign nationals, particularly students and researchers, attempting to end birthright citizenship via executive order, and carrying out mass deportations and raids. A former Department of Justice lawyer, Erez Reuveni, has also accused the Trump administration of ignoring court rulings and pressuring attorneys to prioritize the President's agenda over ethical obligations in deportation cases.
    • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): The administration has moved to terminate grants related to DEI programs and prohibit federally-funded entities from engaging in such initiatives, prompting legal challenges.
    • Housing Discrimination: The Department of Housing and Urban Development is reportedly preparing to shut down investigations into housing discrimination and segregation cases.
    • Education: There are concerns about the Trump administration's dismantling of the Education Department's civil rights division and attacks on academic freedom and free expression at universities.
  • Targeting of Critics:
    • Law Firms: Some law firms have been targeted with executive orders, facing sanctions like revoked security clearances and restricted access to federal buildings, for their pro bono work or associations with investigations involving President Trump.
    • Media and NGOs: There are concerns about undermining press freedom and the critical role of independent media. The administration has also cut funding to organizations supporting human rights defenders and independent journalists.
Is losing your rights to freedom and justice something that you want? If by any chance, you personally (or a member of your family) get arrested and thrown in jail (or worse, deported) without any chance of defending yourself, would you still be a Trump supporter?

By the way and for all of you that accuse these OP's as being TDS, may I remind you that Trump is doing things that no other U.S. president has done? He is changing the U.S. in ways that are against what our Constitution was built on. Do you honestly think that it should be ignored and Trump allowed to do it, without trying to change it (to the nth degree)?
They are illegal aliens. They are NOT innocents.

CATO is an open borders group that lies about illegal aliens.

There is no proof whatsoever in your crappy left wing links of what you claim. NONE

So you demand proof but accept none
I don't normally read links that a poster slaps up but I read them today because I had time. I didn't see one bit of proof. I saw mention of CATO, and the poster probably doesn't know CATO is for open borders, and they are liars to boot. They are a group who lied and claimed illegals commit fewer crimes and the only "evidence" they used was of crime rates by illegals in Texas and extrapolated from Texas what the rest of the country was. Why? Because the rest of the country keeps NO records. And what they didn't divulge. Even though the cities and counties are supposed to report crimes by illegals, a third of them do not because they like and want illegals for the money and low wages they bring.

Don't have to be. Sneak into the country, you are illegal, you can and will be deported. Additional crimes are not necessary.

If you don't like the laws, contact your lawmakers.
Don't believe this thread for one second. I see no evidence in the links of what is the OP is claiming. One of the links from a far left group Axios is behind a paywall and one is from an entity that is in favor of open borders and there is no evidence as to where they get their proof. How do they know what it is they claim? They just make stuff up and the libs report it as fact.

Why don't you use your brain once in a while. You would be pleasantly surprised.

If you go to the link in the OP and start reading it, you will find statements in red that have links to the reports that support the words stated.

Wake up and stop being a fool (Trump's ass kisser)

You are always so ready and fast to make statements that are not based on established facts.

It is true that the CATO institute has faced criticisms for some of its statements/data about illegal aliens. Nonetheless they have refuted those accusations and it has never been PROVEN that they are wrong.

As such, you can say that "you believe" that they are lying but you cannot say "group that lies about illegal aliens"

Which is completely irrelevant
Ever hear of the concept of humanity?

Many of those people face dire (if not deathly) conditions in their countries and to send them back without the chance of pleading their case in front of a judge, is inhumane.

It is like saying "you broke our law by coming here illegally, so I do not CARE about giving you a chance to save yourself, or your family. **** you!"

First of all, it is up to the poster to prove his OP and not up to me to disprove your CLAIMS. I did look at the links and I see no proof of what your OP alleges. You don't just get a headline that says "93% of those detained or arrested are not guilty of violent crimes", slap it up without reading it yourself and make a thread about it.

YOU are to carefully read the link, extract out the "proof" and then and only then is it up to the reader to look at the link for more information. In this case, YOU are to find out how they came up with that claim. What research did they do? Where did they get the data from? What do they consider a violent crime.

We don't do your work for you. You post a thread a day without any backup. You are just a links slapper.

The vast majority are economic migrants coming here looking for better jobs or even handouts.

That is not a good reason.

IF you cared about the few cases of legit asylum seekers, you would want the tens of millions of migrants deported, so that we, THE AMERICAN people would be more open and generous to the few thousands, tens of thousands? of actual real refugees.

But the problem of mass migration is so big, that THAT is the issue.

You want to whine about the few actual refugees? Go whine to your lefty buddies who set up this massive problem that overwhelmed both the system for dealing with it, AND America's generosity.

I (as a poster) have supplied the information. It is you (as an opposing critic) to read the information that is posted!

This is from the link PROVIDED!!!!

The number of people without a criminal record being arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and held in detention has jumped 800 percent since January, as officials face pressure to boost numbers, according to reports.

Do you NOTICE the links (in blue) that are included in the article itself. Just click on them and they will take you to the answer to your question that you seek.

Is this too hard for you to do?
