I predict tariffs will bring down US gas prices from todays $3.11 average

The much needed tariffs against Mexico, Canada, and China will take affect tomorrow. This was necessary and a bold great move by President Trump, who is doing the right thing by protecting Americabe and American businesses.

Rest assured, that as a result of this everything and especially gas prices will go down in price. These tariffs will benefit the consumer’s pockets.

Donald Trump will now school Joe Biden in how to lower gas prices.
Hell, they dropped fast here even before the tariffs. I paid $2.76 at Sams on Wednesday.

No tariffs on petroleum products for an obvious reason.

With the March 1 announcement, the stock market has started tanking.
There has been an almost 600 point reversal in the Dow since the tariffs were announced. The market hates uncertainty.

Smart. Recessions do tend to lower gas prices.

Tariffs won't be applied to Canadian oil, or so they say. All the other raw materials from Canada are fair game so it could raise construction costs and the price of housing. Time will tell.
Well, there might be some exemptions on some products, so they say.

Now that the tariffs are scheduled predictions are that a gallon of gas will increase 50-cents per gallon.

The imposition of tariffs is a bad sign for a reason unrelated to the economy. It means trump's inner circle can't talk him out of doing stupid shit. Like the pardons, the funding freeze, trying to end birthright citizenship, the hiring freeze, blaming the crash on DEI, firing members of the DoJ, nominating morons, and everything contained in P2025.

So.........there's lots more stupid shit to come.

Almost anything could be credited with the eventual bringing down of US gas prices from todays $3.11 average

D'Oh!

I don't think it's all Trump, it's more like his inner circle that puts this shit in his mind. Look at his policy person and stinky musk.

I agree he isn't capable of coming up with all this idiocy himself. It's just that I recall when his chief of staff was named. People were cautiously optimistic she'd have some control over his impulsive, reckless, foolishness. Turns out, not so much.

Wow. You seriously think that when American distributors of Canadian, Mexican and Chinese imported goods have to pay 25% more for it starting tommrow...it will get cheaper for you?

If they come down, it won't be because of tariffs anytime soon. We import oil from Canada and the refineries that process it don't seem inclined to want to stop their processing to switch their set ups to do US oil instead.

Wow.

Mind numbing.

60% of the oil refined in America is from Canada.

Trump is a big old bag of inconsistency. He wants to revive the keystone pipeline to ship oil from canada but he doesn't want america buying canadian oil. That said I think you have your numbers wrong. 60% of the oil the US imports is from Canada however.
