I agree with that. The problem is rooted in Congress, imho. They refuse to pass real reform. The last time it was tried was with GWB. That effort, even though it had broad support at first, is when the Limbaugh coalition started flexing their political muscles by bulling enough GOP members to scuttle the deal. That was the first time I remember hearing that vitriolic, and highly derisive, one sided political rhetoric make it's way into the national political arena.
The last “bipartisan” reform with a couple RINOs is what the left means by reform.

Let in 5,000 a day, give them free housing, health care and jobs.

In recognition of the predicted effect of indiscriminately rounding up people who are in the country illegally,

Just how does a person do that? What is the predicted effect of enforcing the law? Less crime? Safer streets? How does one indiscriminately round up criminals? Can you explain that bullshit? If they are illegal, they are criminals. So, tell us how one "indiscriminately" enforces the law and arrests criminals?

And can you point out a single case where a politician arrested criminals discriminately???

Trolling.
He runs rings around the liberal anchors when they question the legality of what Trump is doing. A reporter once questioned the legitimacy of the words on the Statue of Liberty and he had to clue him in that it was a poem.

The last time it was tried was in 2013 when the Senate passed an immigration reform bill with bipartisan support. Boehner killed it by refusing to bring it to the floor of the House for a vote.

ops, I stand corrected.

"But those who are in the U.S. illegally are not eligible for such benefits, with rare exceptions, immigration experts said. Certain groups, such as refugees and people granted asylum, do receive cash assistance from the federal government, though at much lower levels than those being claimed online.

“Generally, unauthorized immigrants have very little access to federally-funded public benefits,” Julia Gelatt, associate director of the U.S. immigration policy program at the Migration Policy Institute, told the AP in an email. “They can mostly only access emergency, in-kind things like shelter and food during a hurricane or other emergency, or emergency healthcare.”

Asked for further evidence of the group’s claim, ALIPAC President William Gheen acknowledged that “by law illegals are not supposed to receive payments from the federal government.”

"It relies on an Aug. 21 Tucker Carlson interview with retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor. About half way through the segment discussing the Russia-Ukraine war, Macgregor said that “every alleged asylum seeker, illegal migrant pouring in through the border in Texas or wherever else” is given a monthly payment of $2,200."

Migrants' Monthly Payment in NYC Is Higher Than Veterans Compensation

That was a pilot program for migrant families from a single city.

"New York City will end its controversial debit card program for migrants.

Under the pilot program, migrants staying in city-funded hotels received pre-paid cards to buy their own food and other necessities. The city spent $3.6 million on debit cards for about 2,600 migrant families who are staying in shelters without kitchen access."

Yeah, you can really tell by the way the Democrats tried to kill him through the court system followed by gun shots. The guy simply cowered.

In recognition of the predicted effect of indiscriminately rounding up people who are in the country illegally, this happened.

Trump Tells Farmers ‘Changes Are Coming’ to Immigration Crackdown

President Trump acknowledged on Thursday that his immigration policies are hurting the farming and hotel industries, making a rare concession that his crackdown is having ripple effects on the American work force.

Mr. Trump, who has made mass deportation a centerpiece of his presidency, said on social media that “changes are coming.” And while there was no sign of any significant modification to his policies, Mr. Trump’s statements suggested the scale of his crackdown may be alienating industries he wants to keep in his corner.

It would seem some businesses are being hurt by the ICE roundup. Who would have guessed?

Mass Deportation

Devastating Costs to America, Its Budget and Economy

What's a vindictive prez to do to keep the deportation numbers up, and punish cities holding "No Kings" protests.

Trump immigration policies targeting Democratic cities energize organizers, leave others confused

In recent days Trump has vowed to shift immigration enforcement away from political allies and toward political foes, prioritizing deportations in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and cities at “the core of the Democrat Power Center.” At the same time, he’s reversed course and paused arrests in industries that heavily rely on a foreign-born workforce.

Trump Uses False Voting Claims to Target ‘Democrat Power Center’

Making false claims about illegal voting by noncitizens, President Donald Trump ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to target the “core of the Democrat Power Center.”

In a post on Truth Social Sunday evening, Trump told ICE to target “America’s largest cities,” and specifically called out Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, all of which are predominantly led by elected Democrats.

“These Radical Left Democrats are sick of mind, hate our Country, and actually want to destroy our Inner Cities,” the president claimed.

The order represents the latest effort by Trump — and perhaps the most dangerous yet — to wield the massive power of the federal government to punish and weaken his political opponents.

Retribution against perceived enemies, rewarded allies. What a fitting epithet for his gravestone.
Yah, lil TACO got taken to the woodshed by his money handlers...

Their children do. Plus illegals MUST be treated in hospitals for emergencies.

From AI:

Exceptions for Emergency and Limited Benefits:
  • Emergency Medicaid: Undocumented immigrants can access emergency Medicaid for life-threatening conditions if they meet other eligibility criteria (e.g., income requirements). This covers emergency medical treatment, including hospital emergency room care under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). In 2016, federal spending on emergency Medicaid for undocumented immigrants was approximately $974 million, representing 0.2% of total Medicaid expenditures.

  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC): WIC provides nutrition assistance to low-income pregnant women, postpartum women, and young children, regardless of immigration status.

    1750174513587.webp

    1750174513594.webp
  • School Lunch Programs: Undocumented children can access free or reduced-price school lunches in public schools.

    1750174513600.webp
  • Public Education (K-12): The 1982 Supreme Court ruling in Plyler v. Doe mandates that all children, regardless of immigration status, have access to free public K-12 education.

    1750174513613.webp
  • Head Start/Early Head Start: Undocumented children can enroll in these early education programs, as they are not considered federal public benefits.

    1750174513619.webp
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs): Undocumented immigrants can access limited primary care and prescription drugs through approximately 1,400 FQHCs nationwide.

    1750174513626.webp

    1750174513632.webp
  • Emergency Disaster Relief: Short-term, non-cash emergency aid (e.g., shelters, soup kitchens) is available in disaster situations.

    1750174513644.webp
State-Specific Benefits
Some states provide additional benefits to undocumented immigrants, often to address gaps in federal coverage:
  • Healthcare:
    • California: Offers Cal-Health (state-funded Medicaid) to undocumented immigrants under 26 and, as of 2024, to those aged 26–49. California also provides prenatal care regardless of immigration status. In 2016, California spent $174 million on emergency medical services for undocumented immigrants, about 0.6% of its Medicaid budget.

      1750174513657.webp

      1750174513663.webp
    • New York: Extends state-funded Medicaid to individuals 65 and older, regardless of immigration status, and provides prenatal care. New York City offers cash assistance, Medicaid, and WIC to undocumented immigrants, as well as shelter services in some cases.

      1750174513669.webp

      1750174513675.webp

    • Other States: Eight states (e.g., California, New York, Illinois) offer limited health coverage to undocumented children, and 18 states provide prenatal care regardless of status.

      1750174513725.webp

  • Cash and Food Assistance:
    • New York: Offers Safety Net Assistance, a state-funded program for low-income residents, including undocumented immigrants.

      1750174513737.webp
    • California: Provides CalFresh (food assistance) and Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) to certain eligible immigrants, though undocumented immigrants are generally excluded from CalFresh unless they have specific statuses.

      1750174513743.webp
  • Education: In New York, undocumented students who attend high school for at least two years and graduate may qualify for in-state tuition at State University of New York (SUNY) institutions, though they are ineligible for Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) funds.

    1750174513749.webp
  • Disability and Family Leave: In California, undocumented workers can apply for Disability Insurance (DI) and Paid Family Leave (PFL) without a Social Security Number, using an EDD Client Number. These benefits provide pay but do not guarantee job protection.

    1750174513755.webp
  • Other: Some states, like New York, allow undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses, fishing/hunting licenses, or access to state parks with minimal documentation.

Benefits for U.S.-Citizen Children of Undocumented Immigrants
U.S.-citizen children of undocumented parents can access federal benefits without affecting their parents’ immigration status:
  • Programs like SNAP, Medicaid, CHIP, TANF, and SSI are available to eligible citizen children. Their eligibility does not impact their parents’ or other family members’ eligibility.

  • In 1992, an estimated $479 million in Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC, TANF’s predecessor) was provided to citizen children of undocumented immigrants
