I don't think this needs much explanation. It's self-explanatory for those paying attention.

"But those who are in the U.S. illegally are not eligible for such benefits, with rare exceptions, immigration experts said.
You've confused trumples with people who give a damn about whether what they believe is even remotely true. I make the same mistake and constantly have to remind myself, like trump, they just spew horseshit all the time.

That was a pilot program for migrant families from a single city.

"New York City will end its controversial debit card program for migrants.

Under the pilot program, migrants staying in city-funded hotels received pre-paid cards to buy their own food and other necessities. The city spent $3.6 million on debit cards for about 2,600 migrant families who are staying in shelters without kitchen access."

fk no. here's for chicago, I'm sure there's one for LA.

Exactly. Or he just lies his ass off.
If you would rather go with that... IDC.
Right, he's a quitter, and just lies all the time, and that's why TDS is overflowing.

Their children do. Plus illegals MUST be treated in hospitals for emergencies.

From AI:

Exceptions for Emergency and Limited Benefits:
  • Emergency Medicaid: Undocumented immigrants can access emergency Medicaid for life-threatening conditions if they meet other eligibility criteria (e.g., income requirements). This covers emergency medical treatment, including hospital emergency room care under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). In 2016, federal spending on emergency Medicaid for undocumented immigrants was approximately $974 million, representing 0.2% of total Medicaid expenditures.

State-Specific Benefits
Some states provide additional benefits to undocumented immigrants, often to address gaps in federal coverage:
  • Healthcare:
    • California: Offers Cal-Health (state-funded Medicaid) to undocumented immigrants under 26 and, as of 2024, to those aged 26–49. California also provides prenatal care regardless of immigration status. In 2016, California spent $174 million on emergency medical services for undocumented immigrants, about 0.6% of its Medicaid budget.

Benefits for U.S.-Citizen Children of Undocumented Immigrants
U.S.-citizen children of undocumented parents can access federal benefits without affecting their parents’ immigration status:
  • Programs like SNAP, Medicaid, CHIP, TANF, and SSI are available to eligible citizen children. Their eligibility does not impact their parents’ or other family members’ eligibility.

  • In 1992, an estimated $479 million in Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC, TANF’s predecessor) was provided to citizen children of undocumented immigrants
demofks are really not good at this fact finding shit like us.

In recognition of the predicted effect of indiscriminately rounding up people who are in the country illegally, this happened.

Trump Tells Farmers ‘Changes Are Coming’ to Immigration Crackdown

President Trump acknowledged on Thursday that his immigration policies are hurting the farming and hotel industries, making a rare concession that his crackdown is having ripple effects on the American work force.

Mr. Trump, who has made mass deportation a centerpiece of his presidency, said on social media that “changes are coming.” And while there was no sign of any significant modification to his policies, Mr. Trump’s statements suggested the scale of his crackdown may be alienating industries he wants to keep in his corner.

It would seem some businesses are being hurt by the ICE roundup. Who would have guessed?

Mass Deportation

Devastating Costs to America, Its Budget and Economy

What's a vindictive prez to do to keep the deportation numbers up, and punish cities holding "No Kings" protests.

Trump immigration policies targeting Democratic cities energize organizers, leave others confused

In recent days Trump has vowed to shift immigration enforcement away from political allies and toward political foes, prioritizing deportations in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and cities at “the core of the Democrat Power Center.” At the same time, he’s reversed course and paused arrests in industries that heavily rely on a foreign-born workforce.

Trump Uses False Voting Claims to Target ‘Democrat Power Center’

Making false claims about illegal voting by noncitizens, President Donald Trump ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to target the “core of the Democrat Power Center.”

In a post on Truth Social Sunday evening, Trump told ICE to target “America’s largest cities,” and specifically called out Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, all of which are predominantly led by elected Democrats.

“These Radical Left Democrats are sick of mind, hate our Country, and actually want to destroy our Inner Cities,” the president claimed.

The order represents the latest effort by Trump — and perhaps the most dangerous yet — to wield the massive power of the federal government to punish and weaken his political opponents.

Retribution against perceived enemies, rewarded allies. What a fitting epithet for his gravestone.
Trump’s immigration agenda is a disaster, motivated by racism, bigotry, and hate.

Aren't higher wages for these jobs what we've been told is necessary? That's what it means, after all.

There have been a number of people who thought they were securely in Dotard's inner circle only to be thrown off a bridge when they overstepped. Remember, with the serial sexual abuser known as Don loyalty is a one way street.

Do you remember in his first administration when Nancy Pelosi and Trump made a deal on the budget that involved a pathway to citizenship for the DACA kids in exchange for money for the wall?

Stephen Miller put the kibosh to that deal, and it was yanked before Pelosi and Schumer could get back to their offices in the Capitol.

Another TDS thread must be a day ending with the letter Y.

As long as Donald Trump continues to spend his nights and days trying to set the world on fire and end democracy in the United States, there’s gonna be a lot of threads on the stupid shit Trump says, and does.

Trump wants to be the centre of attention and he keeps doing stupid shit to ensure that we keep talking about him

Bull. You guys talked far more about him during the entirety of the Quid Pro Joe administration than you did about the guy who actually held the power.

He certainly has an outsized influence on immigration policy. Which is concerning since he's a xenophobic racist.

Miller is one of the few holdovers from his first administration, which I think is very telling. He also authored the Project 2025 section on immigration and citizenship.

Miller in many ways is far more dangerous than Donald Trump, because he is not stupid or incompetent. Ann’s he is relentless in his goals.

Bull. You guys talked far more about him during the entirety of the Quid Pro Joe administration than you did about the guy who actually held the power.

You mean when he was under arrest and running the Republican House caucus from Mar-a-Lago and trying to impeach Joe Biden?

The guy who actually held the power in the Republican Party, was always Donald Trump.

How can we miss him if he won’t go away?

Simple, ignore him (he hates that) and pay attention to the guy with the power. You chose to click on the articles about him, you chose to write posts and argue about him, you paid him the attention he wanted and the headline writers knew what would drive ad revenue, so they gave you what you wanted.

For 4 years he had nowhere near the power that Quid Pro Joe and Cackles (terrible name for a rock group) held, and you basically gave them a pass, choosing instead to focus on a guy with no real power and ultimately boosting his re-election campaign.

He does, yes.

Wasn't the initial rationale for mass deportations to make the country safer? Now it's about where illegal aliens live and what they do for work.
The idea of getting illegal immigrants is fine by me, they all need to be deported and the companies that employee them need to be fined and in some cases people jailed. If the illegals could not get jobs, they’d be gone.

When American businesses employee illegal immigrants they pay unfair wages and they need to be flushed out.

Another TDS response must be a day ending in the letter Y. I truly feel sorry for all of you who have let on man completely dominate and take over your lives it is really sad to see people obsess over Trump 24/7 365 days a year 366 if it’s a leap year. There are so many wonderful things to see in do in this world than endlessly obsess over Trump I hope one day all of you realize this though I doubt you will it’s like you guys are junkies and he is your cocaine you just can’t give it up. You can now continue with your endless Trump obsession me and my black lab are going for a walk then I’m going to work in my flower beds.

Why wasn’t Biden impeached then? It seems the Democrats held the power, they tried to suppress social media, made up charges to bring down political opponents, lied about the Covid vaccine, they lied about Biden’s health to keep power, they lied about the border crisis, they lied about Covid origins, they spent years lying to us, I trust the Democrats as much as I do Republicans because they both deserve no trust.
