I don't seem to recall going balistic and in world ending catastrophe mode at this point in the Bush II presidency. I don't think I was even griping yet on how many of his campaign promises he had falied on already...

Early onset Alzheimer's.

The libs were hysteric about the totally miserable and unacceptable unemployment rate of somewhere around 5% at the time.

10% under 0bama, that is hope, change and progress

HUH? I may forget some stuff, I am not however delusional.

At this point under Bush we were still United after 9-11-01. We didn't fall apart until there was an election coming up.

good point. regardelss of any other effects 9-11 was the biggest political boon Bush could have been given.

Actually I did not go ballistic on Bush until I realized he was going to invade Iraq and not allow inspectors to do their job.

I have always been against the Iraq invasion, even during the freedom fries era.

And yeah I was called unamerican, unpatrriotic traitor, etc over my stance, but I held firm and was vindicated.
But at what cost in lives ours, theirs and money and generating more terrorists all the while.

That is where we will always have to disagree. I wanted to take Saddam out in 91. Nothing was between him and us but one regiment of guards. We could have been in Baghdad before he could have his afternoon tea.

The Patriot Act was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001 and that didn't make you go ballistic??? You must've been asleep.

Your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it as a vet.
I guess the programming took better on you than I.
But then the entire process was like tring to poke a cat in a bag as far as I was concerned.

He was busy destroying the evidence - his "Bush Stole the Election" signs he made for the ChadFest in FL...

WRONG. Although I whined about the election fiasco I did not blame that on bush. Rove or Shooter maybe but I knew Bush to not be smart enough to engineer election rigging and such.

I was speaking of whining and ranting about failed election promises at under 1 yr in office. I don't recall wailing at bush not having done SS reform by then. Actually I kept waiting 8 years for the right to actually submit a reform bill. But that is another subject and just musings.

Nice diversion attempt though :clap2:

refresh my memory... did President Bush have the Wh and a SuperMajority in both houses?????

yeah I was sort of the same mind back then and was suprised when Bush I backed off.

But in 01 it was a totally different matter. NO recent invasions of other nations, etc.
And I never was convinced of the WMD, etc either this time around.
I based this on the facts of inspectors, etc more than fearmongered hype.

A weak diversion attempt.

Bush did not need a supermajority. His veto record proves that.

Bush could have been given? What a lousy thought process you have. Bush and his team helped keep this incredibly horrible event from totally destroying our economy, Obama and the clowns he has surrounded himself with would have invited more attacks with his wishy washy attitude and lack of belief in the need for resolute action. There is no way President Bush would have ever hoped for an event such as this but he handled it better than most could have ever dreamed.

Actually I did not go ballistic on Bush until I realized he was going to invade Iraq and not allow inspectors to do their job.

The inspectors were bumbling idiots being toyed with by that asshole Saddam. Every political figure worth a shit(that does exclude Obama of course, he was too busy voting present to have an opinion)came out saying that Saddam needed to be dealt with, to be taken out. Saddam's second in command, General Georges Sada, talks about how Saddam took Iraq's WMDs out of country to Syria, you should read it, it makes a lot of sense.

Big deal, what liberal wasn't?

Vindicated, I don't think so, you probably would have been against the U.S. going across the Atlantic to participate in WW2.

Bush wasnt pushing socialism. and 90 percent of the country was behind him at this point in his reign.

"Big deal, what liberal wasn't?"

Obviously many liberals were not. Judging from the dem vote in congress and that many I knew were saying to nuke em all and let god sort em out.

On the WW2 thing, do not push it too extremes, if makes you appear flaccid.

Was that a campaign promise?

Flaccid attempt at diversion from thread topic.

I was speaking of campain promises not fulfilled by bush less than one year into his term.

What campaign promises do you recollect that Bush 2 broke? In other words what is the point of this thread with you being the originator of it--& while you apparently cannot list the promises that Bush 2 broke? Or are you just digging for some broken promises because you really don't know of any?

I know that this current President---President Obama has broken more promises in his 1st year than I still have coins in my pocket---:lol:

What campaign promises had Bush violated at this point in his presidency?
