I've always considered myself liberal for most of my life. I never thought that video game violence causes kids to kill or violent wrap songs were necessarily dangerous for young people. I've agreed with many liberals who fought against the conservative mom and pop groups who wanted to censor the internet to protect children from porn. I thought that it would destroy the internet in the early 90s and, quit frankly, it may limit the choices adults could make in the process.

I've notice that in the last 15 years that what is considered liberal has changed quite a lot. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this either. Most of the democratic debate was more about how to get freebies from the government. It just seems that where today's liberals decide to put their energy is in a different direction than what they did 25 years ago. I remember Dukakis in 1988 and agreed with some of the things he said. I didn't agree with the taxes he wanted to raise but I like the liberal sounding person where Bush Sr. wanted to focus on family values. I hate to tell everyone this but if families are free to choose what they are to be like then there is no need for the politicians to push this.

It is just something I've noticed in my lifetime that things have 'changed' and not for the better for the supposedly 'liberal' party.

What you are noticing is the pell mell rush to Socialism.

Obama said he was going to fundamentally change America....its the only time he told the truth.

Obamas arts nigga isn't biggest in USA. So he can not change the United States . .

I really don't know how much I can stand seeing adults work at Burger King because it is there carreer in the new economy. There are plenty of stats that point to increasing jobs in the economy. No one has denied that but if you actually think that things are as good as they were during the Bush years then you are not using your eyes to notice things such as adults with kids working at Burger King because it is the only f'n job available. These use to be jobs for teenager but now teens are being forced out of the workplace because adults need those jobs. Why is that happening?

Some one, within the past sixty years stated, we do not have to destroy you (the United States), you will destroy yourselves, from within! Not an exact quote but close enough for government work. He, the person who made that statement was a socialist, communist, plus a wise man, in that sense anyhow. Does anyone remember that fella's name? His time was when banging on the lecturn with shoes was in vogue tho the shoe banger was not the one. Walls, borders and check points also were in at that time. Kinda prophet like, don't you think? Come on old guys, don't let todays children upstage you. Name please! As a side note here, part of the process in the dumbing down of Amerika has been our education system as I am almost certain our children were never informed of that statement at the United Nations. Far too harsh for their unlearned ears!

The classical use of the term liberal means anti-authoritarian. However, the modern liberal is anything but this. Instead, the modern liberal wishes to impose higher taxes on us, impose their form of health care upon us, etc. Hell, people are being put in prison because they speak out against global warming conspiracy theorists.

But that's what happens within a centralized power hungry government. As power becomes centralized, so do the laws and regulations they heap upon us. And as laws and regulations increase, freedom wanes. Whether it be socialism, communism, fascism, it's all the same, centralized power rules the day and eventually deteriorates into abject tyranny.

Wilbur...the red line is above but the same chart can easily be used to show that the great depression wasn't filled with massive unemployment simply because there were jobs being created. It means nothing because of that.

So, Super.....are you ready to adjust these numbers for public sector employment?

It isn't that hard just to look around and see but if you continue to prop up the lie you are only hurting your fellow Americans. There isn't much I can do about that if you are OK with that.

Do you know anything about statistical sampling?

Anything at all?

I know that Gallop has unemployment at 9.1%. That was the last time I checked.

OK...so you know nothing about it, obviously.....which likely explains why you are staggering helplessly between nominal numbers and ratios....

let's see if I can be of assistance....

How large is the sample of the GALLUP poll?

I've figured out ONE of your problems.....

Gallup is baiting and switching you with U6.....

But hey, We can go there if you want....

so what happened to U6 under Obama's predecessor?

What has happened since that unvarnished failure rode out of DC in a hail of well deserved jeers?

Sample size is irrelevant when finding estimates for population parameters.

Not when you are finding them by sampling.......
