I didn't vote for long term tariffs.

Faith in what? When he tariffed China the first time, all he did was take nearly 100% of all the proceeds from that and paid off angry farmers lol. Talk about being completely feckless.
Yeah, but China got fucked in the process. Chinas economy is in TERRIBLE shape. Its verging on collapse. A trade war will hurt them more than us.

Here, you figure it out, from your own government.

Warning......don't bitch............your government is watching you.

Reagan did that forced auto makers over here. Used Quatas to kill their ability to sell here. So they moved here to manufacture the cars and trucks.

Now Mexico and Canada use Free Trade to help assemble autos to increase profits with cheap basically slave labor.

Canadian labour is not cheap. It's just that over the last 6 decades since the Auto Pact, companies on both sides of the border have created specialized parts manufacturing facilities to help keeping costs down.

I voted for Trump to lower prices. I voted for him not to cause trade wars with other countries. Now we're all going to see price increases.

I hope those willing to endure the economic hardship so we can stick it to other countries can justify to me why this was necessary. Why did we need these tariffs when we could have done something to ease the pain here in America?
If you order stuff from China prices will go up. If you buy American goods your prices could go down as the counter-tariffs will reduce export demand and lead to surpluses which producers will want to move by reducing prices.

Where exactly did you read that the Chinese economy is on the verge of collapse?

.

I am guessing you didn't type that question into your search engine ...
I mean there are only about 106 million results ... offering different opinions.

Try ... 'Chinese economy on the verge of collapse' ... And take your pick of stories ...
But I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the one presented by ... ThinkChina ... :auiqs.jpg:

Which would not be tariffed if they would agree to try to help drugs crossing brders

Oh? How was the economy reviving? Be specific.

LMAO.. You honestly don't know how the economy recovers?

People working and spending money. Companies hiring more because people are buying more. Add all that with fuel prices that have been coming down for about 2 years now.
And whammo, You have a recovering economy.

I voted for support of America, not wars in and jobs moved to foreign countries.
Buy American made goods and you won't see any economic hardship.....and more and more companies will move their production back to the US.
If you think that high tariffs are going to make u s companies start producing in the u s again , then you don't know anything about tariffs.

The company's will simply raise prices to make up their profits from having to pay more to import their goods. Is the consumers who end up paying the cost of the tariffs not the companies. Companies like Nike and Apple are not gonna stop using Chinese slave children when they can rely on brand recognition to get people to still buy their overpriced sweatshop garbage.

But it also means that companies that do produce in the u s have to also raise prices. There are many materials that the US can't make at a sufficient enough level to meet demand. Rubber, silicon, etc, that must be imported for companies that still produce in the US to have to raise prices to make up profits lost due to the added costs of importing those materials.
So you can expect to see tire companies raising prices, tech companies, and any other industries who rely on materials that must be imported.

Hmmmm, so, you have nothing specific to say. Just the typical broad generalizations.

Thanks!
