I am Muslim. I breathe and live the Holy Qur'an, the Hadiths of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and the love of Muhammad, his family, his Companions, and his inheritors until the end of the world: the saints of Islam.

This is intended to some forumers who believe that Islam prompts its adepts to assassinate adepts of other faiths. I never agressed anyone who does not believe in the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). I am not a member of Al Qaeda, Isis, Boko Haram, the Taliban, or any other extremist group. This shows clearly that Islam is not about killing people of other faiths. I am not mistaken in my understanding of Islam. My understanding of Islam, the only valid understanding of Islam is according to what the great books of knowledge of Islam teach. Those who understand otherwise go directly against the classical teachings.

In copying Judaism (even copying our idea of primary holy book, then another for the human commentary as with Torah and Talmud/ Qur'an and Hadiths) Islam copyied along with everything else many of the same commandments. Including commanding the death of non-members. Originaly Judaism said to kill non-Jews. Islam came along and reiterated the same commandment but used the word 'infidels.'

It's revealing much of the grief heaped onto Islam by non-Muslims is better directed at Judaism who came up with it first. Islam simply copied us.

Murder in the Bible

Kill Followers of Other Religions.

1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

Death for Blasphemy

One day a man who had an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father got into a fight with one of the Israelite men. During the fight, this son of an Israelite woman blasphemed the LORD's name. So the man was brought to Moses for judgment. His mother's name was Shelomith. She was the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan. They put the man in custody until the LORD's will in the matter should become clear. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and tell all those who heard him to lay their hands on his head. Then let the entire community stone him to death. Say to the people of Israel: Those who blaspheme God will suffer the consequences of their guilt and be punished. Anyone who blasphemes the LORD's name must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the LORD's name will surely die. (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)

Infidels and Gays Should Die

So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. They are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)

That is from the Old Testament and mostly refers to what is to be observed in Israel several centuries ago. I find the paragraph Infidels and Gays Should Die misleading. No mention of infidels, only condemns gay men, and correct me if I am wrong, but don't the present day Israeli's allow gays to serve in the military?
Perhaps a few quotes from the New Testament are in order, but I won't offend you since you may think I am trying to kill your soul.

Nobody but ISIS is following their holy book to a tee nowadays. I posted in another thread earlier that you could go as far as calling ISIS "good" practicing Muslims. Everybody else just doesn't take their holy book seriously anymore.

I think over time the basic absurdities of religions becomes more and more apparent, and their own followers marginalize, rationalize, and ignore it. Islam's newer and while we see it becomming increasingly marginalize as with "moderate Muslims" and gay Muslims, it isn't as marginalized as Christianity or Judaism. By this logic, we have more to fear from Mormons than Muslims. :)

You know, I don't care what you believe. If it does something for you, great. Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jedi, Sith, Druid, whatever. It's all good.

However, when someone says "that guy over there doesn't believe what we do. Let's go and hurt him" is when I draw the line. No one has the right to force someone to believe. When it goes from thought to action in the form of violence is when it goes too far. There's no right to not be offended and no right for anyone's sacred cows to be above criticism.

Just live and let live.

Jews did not seek revenge on Germany after WW II. Does that not show a difference in religions?

Dear forumers,

I am a devout and practicing Muslim. I my life 100% in accordance with the true and classical teaching of Islam. I am pretty sure there are not many people who are more devout and practicing Muslims than me. I know this because Islam was meant to be practised by only a few people while most people on earth and within Islam would not practice Islam. Indeed, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) said:

"...pray at night when others sleep..."
"Islam started as something strange, and will return to being something strange; so glad tidings to the stranger."

I am not an extremist. I am not a memeber of Al Qaeda, or Isis, or the Talibans, or Boko Haram, etc... I do not agress those who hold different beliefs than Islam. It shows you that Islam does not say "kill unbelievers".

Now, when I read the Qur'an and I come upon:

"fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)"

I don't take up arms and go kill non Muslims (in this case Pagans). I know that (I believe that) this is a book from God Almighty, who created the universe and sustains it, and all beings in it, all by Himself. He does not talk like a human being and human beings do not understand what He says. This is very basic respect for God, for Muhammad, for the Qur'an.Then I also think that this great and generous God, who is by the way above any sort of humanness will never in any case order me to go kill people. That thought is very basic respect of self.

In any case, interested by my religion I seek to further my knowledge of it, through the writings of the scholars and the learned men. If any scholar tells me you must go kill people, I read something else to see if this is what other scholars say. But the vast majority of scholars don't say anything about killing people, killing people of other beliefs.

But when reading the Qur'an I come upon:

"Follow the way of the one who turns to me in love" (Luqman - Surah 31 - V 15)
"God loves those who are kind" (The Table Spread - Surah 5 - V 13)
"Gods loves not those that waste" (The Heights - Surah 7 - V 31)

I know what these verses mean, even though I am only a human being and this is the word of God Almighty.

Jesus did not warn people about Muhammad. He gave good news to people that Muhammad would come. He did so to say this honoured one whom people were waiting for after Moses was not him, but Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). Jesus and all the prophets are also of the family of Muhammad.

That shows a difference in the way Judaism is practiced now and the way it was practiced a couple thousand years ago.

Why does the koran say women should were the headscarf whenever they are in public.

To what are you referring?

Delta, that's a sad bit of nonsense, even for you.

He actually just quote word for word scripture from the Bible. :dunno:
A part of the Bible. Not the full context of the Bible. When reading a novel is it okay to cherry-pick passages that support ones beliefs, or should you read the entire book and summarize its meaning?

This is what critics of the Bible do. They pay attention only to that which is useful to them and discard the rest. The same could be said of Islamic radicals. This was the case of religious zealots 2000 years ago. Jewish zealots. Muslim zealots. No difference really.
