Dear fellow citizens,

I am sure you are aware of the recent spike in abuse of Hindus in Bangladesh (it's all over the news, particularly in Bangladeshi newspapers). Recently, our ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Dan W. Mozena visited Dhakeshshori Jatio Mondir (a Hindu temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh) and mentioned that all the torture and temple-burning are uncharacteristic of Bangladesh's principles. Human rights watch groups have also pointed out the abuse.

Bangladeshi Hindus are being murdered, raped and tortured without any protection from Bangladeshi government.

Luckily, our own government has enormous influence to diplomatically pursuade other governments to take corrective actions, to emphasize and elevate incidents of human rights violations to global human rights organizations - among many other peaceful diplomatic means. Please join me (a naturalized citizen of the USA who was born in Bangladesh, and who has served in the US Air Force as an active-duty enlisted military personnel) to solicit the attention of our elected leaders in taking actions to address the blatant and on-going human rights violations in Bangladesh against the very peaceful and law-abiding Hindus.

That's why I created a petition to The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama, which says:

"Human rights for the Hindus in Bangladesh. Hindu minority deserves protection from on-going murder, rape and torture."

Will you sign my petition? Please go to signon.org, and click on "Find a petition" at the bottom of the page. Then on the Search bar that apperas, type "Hindus" to find the petition titled "Human rights for Hindus in Bangladesh" and sign the petition.

Thanks!
Amit

"After Bangladesh gained independence from Pakistan, Secularism was included in the original Constitution of Bangladesh in 1972 as one of the Four State Principles, the others being Democracy, Nationalism and Socialism.

"In 2010, the High Court upheld the secular principles of the 1972 constitution. Bangladesh follows secular government system in democratic state.

"However, Bangladesh also follows combined system of state laws and individual religious laws applicable to people of respective religious group.[111]

"The minority percentage of the population adheres to Hinduism (9.6%).[112] The majority of Muslims are Sunni, although a small number are Twelver Shias or Shias.[113] Bangladesh is the fourth largest Muslim populated state after Indonesia, Pakistan and India."

I just signed your petition.
I hope it helps.
Religious intolerance and racial bigotry should vanish from the page of time.
Before humanity does.
