Read 'Kon Tiki', by Thor Heyerdahl. He stated that they saw squid with eyes like this on that voyage. Two long tentacles, and the rest are only 3 feet long. Not exactly something that could pull a sailing ship under. But very impressive, none the less. Thank you for the article.
