This isn't law yet, it now must be passed by the WA Senate.
9.9% income tax on annual incomes greater than $1,000,000.

My take: this is more fair than what California is proposing, which is a "one time" money grab of 5% of net wealth of the super wealthy. But Howard Schultz isn't taking chances. He is moving to Florida. :auiqs.jpg:

The rich do not want to pay more and will move if pushed.

The ultimate goal of the true Marxist using their progressive liberal sock puppets to achieve it. Make the rich and successful leave so that the burden can be passed to the group the truly want to target, the middle class.

I used to bartend in Pioneer Square Seattle, and we had a regular customer who had dated Howard Schultz son at one point, got in good with the family, and she got to live in the penthouse at the top of his building, even after she wasnt dating him anymore. She was a straight up 10! Smokin hot! She was actually really cool too.

She lived in the glowing penthouse at the top of the tower...

I don't think they are that smart. I don't think they understand that these tax and spend policies really don't work in the long run.

The progressive liberals are not that's why I call them sock puppets. The true Marxist behind the scenes are the brains of the operation. The whole point is to collapse the tax structure.

I envision all blue states becoming nature preserves with armies of homeless people, as everyone else moves into red states to turn them purple, and then blue, and then creating the same problem in those states as well

It's called metastasis as the cancer kills the host.

Don’t we need links when reporting stuff here?

The reason blue areas are SHITHOLES is that taxes are not HIGH ENOUGH!

Certainky not from waste and fraud.

Cali spends BILLIONS ON THE HOMELESS….ONLY FOR THE PROBLEM TO GET WORSE.

It benefits the NGOs dealing with the homeless to have MORE HOMELESS.

MORE HOMELESS MEANS MORE MONEY.

They do not want the problem solved, they want more!

People often give all kinds of examples of how the great Roman Empire fell, but where many things contributed to its fall, Rome itself fell in August of 410 AD when it was sacked by the Visigoths.

The greatest contributor to Rome getting sacked was the fact that Rome could no longer defend itself.
Rome could not afford to pay its once massive military, because they ran out of money.
They ran out of money because all the wealthy merchants were sick and tired of being taxed to death to pay for frivolous nonsense and whatever the Senate could imagine as a better world.

The merchants took their money, their business, and their prosperity to places not that far away, and just kept doing business, investing in opportunities, and securing their wealth.

The merchants did fine, Rome and the Roman Empire fell apart.

It's all part of their plan. When this move doesn't raise the revenue the politicians said it would (and it won't), guess what happens then? The $1M income requirement goes down to $500K, then $250K, then $100K, etc.

I'll add a link, quote and comment.

Following a 24-hour debate, the Washington State House passed Senate Bill 6346, a tax on people earning more than $1 million per year, by a vote of 51-46. The tax would apply beginning in 2028, with the first payments due in 2029. If the Washington State Senate concurs with the House version and Governor Bob Ferguson signs the bill into law, this bill will provide significant funding to Washington residents in the form of enhanced education and family tax credits. However, the fallout has already started with Starbucks founder Howard Schultz announcing that he plans to move to Florida, a move that coincidentally came shortly after the bill advanced in the legislature. The question now arises of whether more will follow and whether Washington is equipped to financially handle a mass exodus of high earners out of its state.

We see this more and more and in California they've already chased away a decent number of the BILLIONAIRES in their state.

At what point will Democrats get that in this age of AI and information moving more freely, along with PEOPLE moving freely, you can't just demand massive chunks of the efforts and work of others under they same rationales you used the last 20 times you raised taxes and get away with it.

"Yes but children won't learn and people will starve."

You said that the last twenty times you raised taxes and the services never arrived. They've supposedly been starting and not learning for four decades and on top of that the police and DA don't stop crime, the roads are crap, and the state pension funds have all been underfunded or raided.

At some point you run out of other people's money to loot. People continue to FLEE Democrat rule and not just the billionaires and millionaires, every productive person as well.
