How will Chris Wright's Secretary of Energy nomination directly affect global warming..

Yet here we sit in a country that produces enough oil and gas to export.
And the reason .... which is definitely more complicated for your 8.5 seconds attention span is :
It turns out that it is simply cheaper and more profitable to:
  • import heavy oil to refine into finished products and
  • to export the light sweet crude at higher prices.
For now, both refiners and U.S. consumers benefit from importing heavy crude and exporting the lighter grade.
This dichotomy also illustrates substantial misinformation regarding U.S. energy production.

Chris Wright's nomination will dispel climate change propaganda.

More importantly maybe he will dispel the hoaxes revolving Global warming by 1.5° C as a risk to human survival!
For example everyone blames CO2 but what about the heat from concrete, i.e. "urban heat islands"???
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, daytime temperatures in urban areas are on average 1-6° F higher than in rural areas, while nighttime temperatures can be as much as 22° F higher as the heat is gradually released from buildings and pavement.
This is a perfect example of how the biased MSM not covering stories like the following:
Where were the BIASED uninformed MSM covering this story?
The Earth's climate sustained 4,000 PPM of CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere 500 million years ago when the Earth was average temperature 500 million years ago was likely significantly warmer than today, with estimates placing it around 24°C (75°F) with occasional spikes reaching as high as 36°C (97°F), compared to the current average of around 14-15°C (57-59°F).

More fundamentally... where did the 4,000 PPM of CO2 come from, i.e. were there any fossil fuel generated CO2 , cars, electric generating plants, humans???
I would hope that he would have the common sense to see that all the electric cars, wind turbines, solar farms and any other 'green energy' initiatives might have some practice uses but there is zero evidence that the most draconian efforts have slowed, much less reduced the CO2 in the atmosphere. We shouldn't throw more and more good money at an exercise in futility.

I hope he understands the unreasonableness and unacceptable cost in resources and quality of life to eliminate fossil fuels in our lifetime and the far more sensible approach is to use our ingenuity and resources to help people adjust constructively to inevitable climate change. For example, follow Israel's example of converting ocean water to potable water for use in water starved areas of the county.

I hope he understands that more than eight billion people on Earth--that's seven billion more than existed at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution--and their activity will have an effect and we find common sense ways to deal with it. Clean air, water, soil is a worthy goal. Trying to change the climate is just stupid.

Patrick Moore is a complete MORON who, like other Co2 FRAUD taxpayer funded "faux skeptics," accepts FUDGED FRAUD as real.

This idiot and those like him are to be ignored.

"During the last glacial period"

Was that when Greenland froze or North America thawed.... which actually happened AT THE SAME TIME!!!

10k-1 million years ago

Those who use "glacial period" are part of Co2 FRAUD and lying about the definition of ICE AGE.
Now I know you are Apu, you fucking moron.

Name call they can, refute one word they cannot.
You mean besides the northern hemisphere didn't glaciate until the last 5 million years, Apu?

All of which I agree with 100%! EVs are a good alternative for sure... IF we have electricity generating capacity growing as demand grows. Continue to build fossil fuel plants but emit less CO2 in the generation process!
Do not destroy 60% of our electricity generation until we have modified fossil fuel plants to emit less CO2.
And that is just one adjustment needed.
The other major problem with the "guarantee to rid fossil fuels" is this:
Petrochemicals derived from oil and natural gas (fossil fuels!) make the manufacturing of over 6,000 everyday products and high-tech devices possible. Major petrochemicals—including ethylene, propylene, acetylene, benzene, and toluene, as well as natural gas constituents like methane, propane, and ethane—are the feedstock chemicals for the production of many of the items we use and depend on every day.

For example...
  • asphalt 94% of roads in America use asphalt which uses 1.4 Billion barrels of oil per year,
  • The tires you drive on are every year made from 300 million barrels of oil .

All good reasons to not just burn the stuff ... besides ... "spacesuits"? ... my spacesuit is made of cotton ...

Easy to find out... you know the Internet???
For example, Extravehicular Mobility Units (that's space suit to you and me) are made of multiple layers of material with one thing in common.
Nylon, Spandex and urethane-coated fabrics all come from chemicals produced in oil and natural gas refining.

Thanx for the image that shows Greenland as a part of North America ... good work dude, good work ...

The map is old, prior to 2012, and clearly never followed the data from Greenland, which shows Greenland ice free 2 million years ago.

But it does have the "earlier glaciation" that dates back 50 million years, the pre-homO North American Ice Age beginning.

That's nonsense. 50 million years ago the planet was in a greenhouse state with no polar ice whatsoever.

the planet was in a greenhouse state

LOL!!!

Atmosphere not the cause of Earth climate change.

Sincerely,

1 million to 10k years ago when Greenland FROZE while North American THAWED at the same time

Correct. Plate tectonics, the resulting landmass distribution which thermally isolated the polar regions and ocean currents distributing the uneven heating from the sun did that.

LOL!!!

Water does not cause ice. People who claim it does are absolute morons.

North American Ice Age was 30-50 million years in duration because that's how long North America was within 600 miles of the north pole.

Greenland arrived at 600 miles to the pole in the past 2 million years.

The absence of heat causes water to freeze, dummy. Remove the heat being circulated from the Atlantic to the Arctic and the northern hemisphere will glaciate.

thermohaline circulation

Thermohaline circulation, also known as the ocean's conveyor belt, is a large-scale ocean current

and hence this absolute moron insists

WATER CAUSES ICE

Um, no it doesn't, because it isn't cold enough, and we know this because if it was cold enough IT WOULD BE ICE...

DUH.......

Fresh water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit but seawater freezes at about 28.4 degrees Fahrenheit , because of the salt in it.Jun 16, 2024

Nope. Absence of heat causes water to freeze, dummy. Remove the heat being circulated to the Arctic and the northern hemisphere will galciate like it has done over 30 times in the past 3 million years.
