John Kerry: "We're on the brink of needing to declare a climate emergency, which is what we really have. And we need to get people to behave!"

The world is in a state of climate emergency, and we need to shift into emergency gear. Humanity’s burning of fossil fuels has emitted enough greenhouse gases (GHGs) to significantly alter the composition of the atmosphere and average world temperature has risen between 1.1 and 1.2°C.
OK So the cause is the world's average temperature as of today:
According to current data, the average global surface temperature is approximately 15°C (57.98°F/14.43°C) as of 2024-12-11 19:16:27 UTC.

HMMM so how does Kerry et.al. explain the world's temperature 500 million years ago when the CO2 PPM was 4,000?
Concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere were as high as 4,000 ppm during the Cambrian period about 500 million years ago.

HMMM... who was burning fossil fuels then?
According to recent studies, the average world temperature around 500 million years ago was likely significantly warmer than today, with estimates placing it around 86°F (30°C) or higher, indicating a "hothouse" climate with no polar ice caps and generally high temperatures across the globe; this data is based on analysis of the Phanerozoic era, which covers the past 500 million years of Earth's history.

Hmmm 86° C! Again where was the 4,000 PPM coming from then but we are concerned about world temperature has risen between 1.1 and 1.2°C.?
Would someone answer these two questions:
  • Where did 4,000 PPM of CO2 come from, i.e. who was burning fossil fuels?
  • How did the world survive if the average global temperature was 86°F (30°C) or higher?

Different life, Son.

Next stupid question?

Wrong.
Ancient prehistoric CO2 amounts were high due to massive volcanic activity, not the burning of fossil fuel.
But the world survived by being inhabited by more cold blooded organisms who could take the heat, and by a permanent cloud cover that blocked out most of the sun.

The problem with modern global warming from burning fossil fuel is that oceans would rise 200' and cause a return to the swamps and fog of the Phanerozic era.
Sure we could survive it, but it would be disastrous to the economy, with all the coastal areas having to be evacuated.

Kerry and the rest of the glowarmers need to be committed to a state hospital.

Wrong.
The global warming warnings are accurate.
We have proof, like the Northwest Passage opened up in 1997 for the first time in a hundred thousand years.

Kerry and the rest of the glowarmers need to be committed to a state hospital.

In fairness he is a paid Deep State stooge .
He is paid to spout garbage and may even believe it .

He has been bought , cooked and polished since his days at Yale and being invited to be a member of the Skull and Bones Society.

Total Shit of the highest order

So let’s fuck up the economy now and starve people to death so we protect them from dying from global warming in 2009.

FACTS not guesses like you wrote above. Zero links to substantiate your comments!

Current projections have Florida suffering $66 billion in losses by 2100, 20 percent of the total
$330 billion in U.S. damages.

Hmmm... So the trade off is this:According to several studies, replacing fossil fuels in the United States with renewable energy would cost around $4.5 trillion. This estimate comes from research by firms like Wood Mackenzie, which considers the cost of transitioning to a fully renewable power grid, including wind, solar, hydro, and battery storage.

Democratic U.S. House member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who represents New York, helped create a “Green New Deal” proposal that seeks to solve several major environmental issues. It has been estimated to cost around $10 Trillion.

It estimated that 1,600 gigawatts of wind and solar capacity would have to be added, at a cost of around $1.5 trillion. That is more than 11 times the nation’s current wind and solar capacity. Even though the costs of wind and solar have been dropping, a sharp increase in demand could drive prices up, the study noted.

The report estimated that more than 320,000 kilometers of electrical wires would have to be added to carry wind and solar energy from rural areas to major cities. The estimated cost for that effort would be about $700 billion.

The study noted that major costs could be reduced if the process of completely moving away from fossil fuel sources took place over a longer period of time.

$4.5 Trillion to $10 trillion to make the guarantee of Biden to "rid fossil fuels"!
Versus $5 trillion to prevent damages to coastal properties... by 2100. BUT..

What is the current rate of rising sea waters?

Sea level along the U.S. coastline is expected to rise, on average, 10 - 12 inches 0.25 - 0.5 meters in the next 30 years, which will be as much as the rise measured over the last 100 years (1920 - 2020)

Kerry, Obama, et. al. don't believe a word of it, that's why they have oceanfront properties. They're counting on gullible people to believe them
Right and see below how close to the rising sea waters Obama's $11.75 million home in Martha's Vineyard

People adapt. They always have. Don’t build in prone areas. If a thirty year heads-up isn’t sufficient, you’d deserve your fate.
The renewable fantasy incurs substantial environmental risks in itself.
AGW alarmism is the greatest scam this side of covid-19.

Look, Dem policies (schemes for lining their pockets with your money) are unpopular. So to cram their policies through they fabricate one dire apocalyptic prediction after another.

Before the 'climate change' apocalypse it was the global warming apocalypse. When people laughed each time it snowed they changed the label.

Before the global warming apocalypse it was the hole in the ozone layer apocalypse that was going to fry us all to DEATH!

Before the ozone hole apocalypse it was the mass extinction die off of species apocalypse.

Before the mass extinction apocalypse it was the deforestation apocalypse.

Before the deforestation apocalypse it was...wait for it...the coming global cooling ice age apocalypse.

Good question.

Earth started out with much higher CO2 and near nothing in free oxygen. That was about 4-4.5 billion years ago and first life forms were stromatolites that started the plant cycle of using CO2 and expelling O2. It took some time (few billion years) for there to be enough accumulated O2 (Oxygen) to make conditions habitable for Fauna.

Earth's Third Formation of Atmosphere

When we compare Earth's early atmosphere with its present one, major differences are obvious. But the change from a reducing atmosphere, poisonous to most modern life forms, to the current oxygen-rich atmosphere took about 2 billion years, almost half of Earth's lifespan.

Fossil evidence shows that the earliest life forms on Earth were bacteria. Cyanobacteria, which are bacteria capable of photosynthesis, and chemosynthetic bacteria found at deep sea vents thrive in an oxygen-depleted atmosphere.

These types of bacteria could thrive in Earth's second atmosphere. Evidence shows they did thrive for a long time, happily converting carbon dioxide into food and releasing oxygen as a waste product.

At first the oxygen combined with iron-rich rocks, forming the first rust in the rock record. But eventually the oxygen released exceeded nature's ability to compensate. The cyanobacteria gradually polluted their environment with oxygen and caused Earth's current atmosphere to develop.

Fool of a Denier!! Even at 4,000ppm, it’s only high per capita American CO2 that’s causing the problem! China will build AN ADDITIONAL100 coal fired plants this year adding to the over 3,000 already in existence and will pay nothing to reduce their CO2. Americans alone must bear the cost of their high per capita CO2
