Zone1 How to make baseball more intense...and more interesting....

I think I came up with a way to make baseball interesting...I am not a fan of the game......but Derek Hunter was talking about the All Star game on his radio show today, and his guest said they liked the pitch clock.

It occurred to me .....

Change the rules like this.....each batter gets a total of 3 pitches...

Pitcher throws 2 balls the batter gets 1st

Pitcher throws two strikes without a swing....batter is out.

Batter hits two foul balls, he is out.

You still have the pitch clock...

The game moves much faster, the action is more intense.....and more interesting........

I don't care for baseball and I think those changes of yours would make it even worse.

Completely defeats the purpose of the pitch clock. As long as an umpire is consistent, pitchers and batters can adjust. Part of the game. The human element. It’s a human game.
Totally unrelated to what we are talking about. The ball/strike challenge is coming and it will improve the game. And perhaps best of all we will not have a bad ball/strike call deciding who wins or loses a close game.

It delays the game and that’s contrary to the purpose of a pitch clock. Pitch clock should be ditched if there are any base runners.

It is to commercialized. Too much time between innings. Timeouts. It was one of the rare games with no time limits. It was no more than a minute fifty years ago or so. There was a time they just ran on the field and started the next half inning or inning.

Baseball doesn’t need radical changes

After watching, betting, NCAAF NCAAB, NFL. COPA MENS, EURO WONENS, WC etc. Live action bet by quarter half? MLB is too slow and boring. And I am lifetime (was hardcore) fan.

Get back into the box twerking arsejack, thought we had a pitch clock! Batters are exempt? Huh?

Warmup swings in the tunnel? Gloves, armor, readjust every pitch?

8 relief pitches? Huh? The prima donna glass arm just threw for 15 min!!! WTH? Warmup pitches every inning? Its hot out here lin RF lets go! Coming down? Lol! 162 games + 30 spring training and you need practice?

OF just stand around and they get tired? WTH! DH my butt. Just bat eight then you clowns.

Can't shift! Huh? Can't play 11 on the line in NFL? Yeah you can. BasketBall has some zone. What business mine where you put YOUR players in the FIELD OF PLAY. Its your paycheck.

I'm beginning to hate it.

It’s all about appealing to the pro-wrestling fan intellect. That’s where the money has directed it all. A reflection of a degraded culture.

Oh great the late games coming on. Guess I'll bet $11 on AZ +1.5 runs vs. STL (oh...but its Sonny Gray) . Wait 2 hours see how it looks...gee is Arenado healthy?...perdomo signed 4 yrs? Is he happy? What a bunch of crap.

Yawning. Women's soccer was more exciting France vs. Germany. Just not thrilled for MLB like when I was 27 yrs old with Bud Weiser.

Bet over under 8.5 runs? Not care who wins? Does that include extra innings? Runner on 2nd....<snickering>

Interesting that you mention soccer. They’ve made essentially zero rules changes to enhance scoring, etc., and it’s the world’s most popular sport.
Doesn’t speak well for American intellect.

I am broken from the Obidens. I get angry easy as they run deep state games killing 401K jobs and home value. I mute TV. I don't need Costas Wallace Buck midgets telling me about guns. Or Buck Aikman caught bashing Blue Angel flyover on hot mic. Mexicans at LA singing Spanish the national anthem as black teats fall out of dresses at SB. Never have I watched halftime. God gave me remote. Im out.

Oh blackout rules! Can't watch MIL in Arkansas if the Twins are playing at home huh? Are you crazy???

STL blacked out. I'll take Cleve to beat OAK or is it LV? Or is it SACRAMENTO?

Severino is still pitching? Hold on. No I'mnot drinking or drugging as of now.

I changed to Cleve over 3.5 runs. Severing wild high. Hey? StL AZ on FOX! AZ blowing them out. Sonny Gray ball won't break w/o humidity.

I would say go back to the old school and let pitchers throw inside the way they used to, but with teams bringing in fresh 100-mph arms several times a game, it's a different game now. Throwing inside like Bob Gibson could end careers.

I think baseball's biggest problem is MLBs greed. They've made the sport unaffordable for families to go watch a game and they've taken it off of mainstream TV in a lot of ways. I have not watched the last two World Series, and I used to watch that if nothing else.

I've been a lifelong fan but it's to the point where I just don't give a shit anymore unless there are some compelling matchups. I thought last year's could be but it was clear after game 1 that the Dodgers were gonna own the Yankees. The Rangers and D-Backs the year before made me throw up in my mouth.

Wish they would have somehow found a way to move the team to Sacramento instead of Las Vegas. I really doubt Vegas can support 3 pro sports franchises. Maybe NBA would work, but MLB to Vegas is the worst idea.

yea i wish they would to....they have a shitty owner.....and the A's triple A team here avg just about what the parent team did while in Oakland...a major league team could make it here lots of baseball fans...

I used to live out near the Bay Area and as crappy as the old Coliseum looked, the actual atmosphere at the park was pretty cool. I liked A's fans better than Giants fans, and I'm an NL guy. If MLB's gonna get people to build stadiums I'm sure Sacramento or somewhere near there wouldn't have been a hard sell. It's just an hour away (if that) on I-80. Maybe Vacaville or some place like that. They could have drawn from both Sac-town and the East Bay. And the fans would have had the team's back.

Las Vegas? Like where's the fanbase from? I honestly think the Raiders and A's will both fail miserably. The Knights will succeed. That's a good franchise, a good concept. They market well. And hockey games are easier to sell out than MLB or NFL.
