Texas hill country
Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban recently announced his latest, ground-breaking innovation, and it’s one that should catch the attention of Americans. The venture is an online pharmacy for generic medications that cuts out the middlemen (insurance companies, PBMs, etc), and offers price transparency for consumers.

By doing this, Cuban stands to substantially lower the prices of these drugs for patients and make money in the process.

“Not everyone sets the goal of being the lowest cost producer and provider,” Cuban told Axios. “My goal is to make a profit while maximizing impact.”

According to Cuban and the company’s website, all drugs will be priced at cost plus a 15 percent mark-up.

Worth a shot IMHO.

So he will put out of business plenty of middleclass people, who handled the inbetween of drugs to market. Really fucking nice of the prog billionaires again.

You'd rather have higher drug prices for people that can't otherwise afford the medications they need? Maybe those people oughta be put out of business and find another line of work that is more constructive.

Such efficiencies will continue to put people out of work until we have a permanently unemployed class whose needs will have to be met by tax funded government welfare programs. Can you spell c-o-m-m-u-n-i-s-m?

"From those what have to those what don't."

The only proper way to lower drug prices is for people to take better care of their health. This will lower all health care costs including health insurance. (Why does this even need to be stated?)

Even healthy people sometimes need medications. How are you going to distinguish or decide who gets treated and who doesn't? Death Panels! Fuck that, how about we knock off the bullshit and try to make drug prices lower without applying price ceilings that make things worse? Maybe the best way to do that is to streamline the business by cutting out the middleman who really serves no good purpose anyway. It's called creative destruction, sometimes people have to find another way to make a living.

We should do both. The problem is that people who are in the care of the medical industry rely wholly on them. They do little for themselves regarding their health. The more medication one takes the more they will need to counteract the side effects. It's a downward spiral that destroys the patient while enriching the system.

That would certainly be helpful in many other areas too.
