How to know these days are weird

In the old days (like maybe 10 to 15 years ago or earlier), the following sentence would have been considered rather stupid:

“As she idly scratched her scrotum, she thought back to her days as a little boy.”

Now? That’s considered a perfectly rational bit of prose.

These are strange days, indeed.
