In the US you now have red states that are trying to reopen and blue states that wants to shut everything down till Trump is gone. However, our schools are all run by Leftists because they seized education long ago.

So how do we get schools in red states to reopen?

I say cutting funding is the only way. After all, if teachers are not on the job why are we paying them?

Gotta love Red States ignoring the TRUMPvirus while their infection rates skyrocket.

No states have ignored the virus

Try again.

We're already getting several incidents of the virus spreading in schools.

"After starting both in-person and remote classes on July 27, Corinth School District in Mississippi has been hit with cases among students and staff in its elementary, middle and high schools, forcing over 100 students into quarantine, according to the state's health officer, Dr. Thomas Dobbs, who noted on August 4 there have been positive cases in the school systems of four other counties.

Cherokee County School District in Georgia, which also offers both physical and virtual instruction, reported on August 3 that a second-grader contracted the virus on the second day of classes, forcing the child's teacher and 20 of their classmates into quarantine for two weeks.

This follows the news from Georgia's largest school district, Gwinnett County Public Schools, that approximately 260 teachers were sidelined either due to positive tests or contacts with infected individuals 24 hours after beginning in-person pre-planning on July 29.

On its first day of instruction on July 30, Greenfield Central Community Schools in Indiana, which is conducting both in-person and virtual classes, reported a junior high school student tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Tennessee has already seen cases in five school districts among nearly 50 that have started back up since late July, according to the Tennessean, with some schools reporting positive cases among staffers that attended in-person pre-planning sessions prior to reopening.

While it hasn't begun classes yet, Somerville Independent School District in Texas reported a student athlete had tested positive on August 4, a day after some sports teams were able to begin practicing again."

How to get schools open? Money. Money for PPE, daily deep cleanings, onsite school nurses, weekly testing and distance learning for those that want it.

On balance, most parents with kids in school (60%) say it is better to open schools later to minimize infection risk, even if students miss out on academics and social services and some parents will not be able to work, while about half as many (34%) say it’s better to open schools sooner so parents can work and kids can get services, even if there’s some risk of infection. A majority (71%) of the public overall say that public schools in their area need more resources to reopen safely, and 66% of parents say the same about their own child’s school. Parents of color are more likely than White parents to say it is better for schools to open later to minimize infection risk, and to say that their own child’s school lacks the resources it needs to reopen safely.1

"More than 90 staff members in one Georgia school district have been quarantined due to coronavirus exposure or infection, prompting the district to plan to begin the year entirely online.

Barrow County Schools officials announced Wednesday that the district about 50 miles (80 kilometers) northeast of Atlanta would abandon plans to have both in-person classes and distance learning when the school year begins Aug. 17, and instead have all students attend classes virtually."

I expect that we'll see a lot more of this for schools that try to reopen. People will inevitably get infected, and then they'll move back to online learning.

A 7-year old with no underlying health conditions died from covid.

Some of you pro-life, all lives matter people went to "it's a financial burden on us so it's ok if children die" real quick.

Home schooling- sounds good to me. Close down the centers for compliance.

Wanna open the schools? Wear your mask, avoid large gatherings, stay out of bars and restaurants, when a vaccine is available get one.

Cutting funding is what republicans always do to schools, why would it make any difference today?
